Miss California Carrie Prejean Releases Statement on Nude Photos

Miss California Carrie Prejean has released a statement about the topless photo of her (with allegedly more to come) that surfaced yesterday, in which she says "I am a model. Models pose for pictures." She then continues her attack on marriage equality.

Prejeannude2 Carrie Prejean statement:

"On April 19, I chose to answer a question during the 2009 Miss USA pageant in an honest and personal manner that expressed my views of the long-established definition of marriage as being between a man and a woman. That answer, and my commitment to stand by my beliefs, has since resulted in attacks on me and my integrity as a woman. We live in a great country; a nation that was built on freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Yet my comments defending traditional marriage have led to intimidation tactics that seek to undermine my reputation and somehow silence me and my beliefs, as if opinion is only a one-way street.

"I am a Christian, and I am a model. Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos. Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith. I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be. But these attacks on me and others who speak in defense of traditional marriage are intolerant and offensive. While we may not agree on every issue, we should show respect for others' opinions and not try to silence them through vicious and mean-spirited attacks.

"With that in mind, I will continue to support and defend marriage as the honorable institution it is. I will continue to stand with the overwhelming majority of the American people and the voters of my home state of California. If this whole experience has taught me anything, it is our precious right to speak freely, and how we as Americans can never allow anyone or any group to intimidate or threaten us to keep silent."

This morning, the Today show confirmed the topless photos with Miss USA judge Alicia Jacobs.

  1. Ha! If she's modeling for anybody in that photo, it's her boyfriend. That picture was not taken by a professional photographer.

  2. Keep going honey...pick and chose which parts of the Bible you want to follow.

  3. oops, i mean choose. I can't type, but boy can I pose.

  4. I told you this would just feed into her persecution complex (and in turn, the persecution complex of her supporters).

Someone should tell her the most recent polls show rapidly growing support for marriage equality. She is incorrect stating the majority of people do not support it, much less the 'overwhelming' majority.

In short, she has no idea what she's talking about. But of course thats not news.

  5. The innumerable chapters in the bible about "opposite" marriage are quite enlightening...you should check 'em out.

  6. Seems to me that she has more issues with the photos, than the rest of the public - which no one gives a shit about in the first place.

I'm sure miss USA committee breathes a sigh of relief from not give her the title.

This is a tactic, like the statements made about gay marriage, to get attention on the part of Prejean.

  7. Whatevs, she'll be thrice-divorced by the time she's 31. Sanctity of marriage, yeah right.

  8. Carrie, sweetie...

People aren't intolerant of your opinion... they're intolerant of your hypocrisy. Here's some helpful tips.

    1. If you've never once been in a serious relationship, don't go on TV and proclaim your theoretical-maybe-someday relationship superior to millions of ACTUAL LGBT relationships.

    2. If you accept the free boob job offered by the Miss California folks, then don't expect to be able to take the moral high ground later on.

    3. If you're just regurgitating the preachings of your pastor, people will be able to tell. If you're going to whine that people aren't respecting your opinion, you need to have one of your own first (and be able to articulate it without using the phrase "opposite marriage").

  9. Should someone start running photos of Obama smoking in secrecy since he holds the same views as this person?

Don't bother, she's far more important.

  10. Even though it is ovbious that she is just a meat puppet for the organization that paid for her boobs--and couldn't really string together the words in her "statement"--the net result is that she's still just a gift that keeps on giving.

  11. This girl is doing everything she can to screw up her life and blaming everyone else in the process. She isn't mature or bright enough to handle all this attention in a smart way. The NOM people are taking advantage of her and using her and will drop her like a hot potato when they're done.

  12. "Should someone start running photos of Obama smoking in secrecy since he holds the same views as this person?

Don't bother, she's far more important."

Politics is way more complicated than a beauty pageant.

    There is no comparison.

  13. Give the bimbo a gun, maybe the NRA will pick her up,

  14. "Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site"

Wait, did she just say she took those topless photos when she was a teenager? Oh wow, you're REEEEEEALLY not helping your case here honey.

And for the love of God, shut up about freedom of speech already. We have as much of a right to call you a talentless butterface with fake tits as you do saying that an entire group of people don't deserve the same rights as you do because of somethng you chose to believe. Get off your high-horse, ho-bag.

  15. Paul honey, we're all aware that Obama doesn't support marriage equality. You can quit bringing it up now.

But you're right in your suggestion that Miss Thang isn't important. I wish she would just go away.

Posted by: The Milkman | May 5, 2009 11:09:14 AM

  16. Yeah, sure she wrote that statement. I doubt she could even read that statement.

    Posted by: wisebear | May 5, 2009 11:10:11 AM

  17. "Don't judge me, but don't get upset if I judge you." There's a word for it - oh, wait - hypocrite!

  18. Please stop giving this attention seeking queen what she wants.

    Posted by: Lazycrockett | May 5, 2009 11:10:39 AM

  19. Sigh... The only thing I want to point out in all this nonsense is that Ms. Prejean seems to think that a 52% "Yes on 8" vote was an "overwhelming majority". More NOM lies in an attempt to further their agenda...

    Posted by: ichabod | May 5, 2009 11:13:03 AM

  20. Yes, obviously the boob job and the topless pics prove she doesn't really have a lot of high 'moral' ground to be an uppity Christian, but you'd be a fool to think this shit is changing anyone's mind. To anyone with a brain this ho's stupid hypocrisy was apparent from the get-go, but her Christian defenders still see it as 'the gays persecuting Miss All-American Barbie.' They're not interested in things like facts or logic. I don't think this fiasco will ultimately shift things either direction, I am just tired of hearing about and from this ho. Enough already. Let's send her and Susan Boyle to the moon and be done with it.

  21. So when did she become the toothy blonde we saw? SO glad that she was so happy with what god gave her she bleached her hair, capped her teeth and got bigger boobs.

    Posted by: Frank | May 5, 2009 11:13:53 AM

  22. Topless photos? I'm sure it's what Jesus would have wanted her to do. You gotta laugh. Why is it that those who adopt the moral high ground always end up with egg on their faces, and in this case silicone in their tits?

    Posted by: jethro | May 5, 2009 11:16:53 AM

  23. "Should someone start running photos of Obama smoking in secrecy since he holds the same views as this person? "

PAUL C, do you mean views like equal pay for equal work? And giving the offended woman the right to sue even if it's years after she's left the offending employer? If she holds that view, then maybe she aint a dumb gal afterall.

And was the President smoking in the nude-- in the photos you're talking about? If so, I'll buy one of those photos, baby.

  24. Like my mom used to say (bless her heart may she rest in peace): "People who live in glass houses shouldn't be photographed with their ass, tits and cooch haning out."

    Posted by: Bill | May 5, 2009 11:22:15 AM

  25. I think Obama is a closet gay marriage supporter just as he's a closet agnostic.

There is no such thing as a completely honest and effective politician. You have to play the game to get what you want.
