Book: Mary Cheney Demanded New Car, Canned Secret Service Agent

Marycheney Mary Cheney wanted a new car to be driven around in while her father was Vice President and got one, a new book claims. Cheney denies it, according to Page Six:

"According to 'In the President's Secret Service' by Ronald Kessler, when Mary demanded the Service shuttle her friends out to restaurants, the agent in charge objected and she had him removed from her detail. The former veep's daughter also allegedly complained about the Secret Service vehicle assigned to her. 'She saw that her sister [Elizabeth] had a brand-new Suburban,' an agent who was on her detail tells the author. 'Mary had an older vehicle. She was like, why can't I have one? Next thing you know, within a day or two, she has a brand-new Suburban from the Secret Service sitting out there in front of her house.' But Mary told Kessler, 'These stories are simply not true, and I have nothing but the utmost respect for the men and women of the Secret Service.'"

  2. Daddy, I want a pony now!

Why does this not surprise me? Sadly, this won't make any news, instead we'll keep hearing about Pelosi's use of jets (which was found to be untrue) or how the Dem's are abusing their power. News flash: most politicians [generally] abuse their power, it's not party specific. I just love how the Republicans claim to be "above it".

  3. This type of entitlement behavior from the pols, their progeny and their so called friends is not new. How many millions/billions of tax dollars go to the upkeep of the Senators, Congresspeople, White House, etc. plus security for their families and friends when they are in their vicinity? We probably could balance the debt on it.

  5. Doesn't surprise me...Mary Cheney always seemed like an asshole. The only shocking part is that she had "friends" to be shuttled to restaurants with. But I guess a free chauffered car ride can buy off a few other a-holes...and that's all they have in D.C., so hey...

  6. If she denies it dosn't the GAO have records for requisitions of vehicles for govt use?

  7. The only thing surprising here is that Secret Service agents would have told any stories like this. I find it hard to believe that any agents would have disclosed any information about their interaction with protectees -- treat this one with healthy skepticism.

  9. I wonder if this was a calculated move to burnish her carefully cultivated public persona of a bitchy douchebag?

  10. This is someone who took a six-figure salary to work against the rights of her partner, her children, and all of us. And we should be surprised that she is a raging inflamed asshole because....?
