People love it when you reveal yourself for who you really are. The fact is most people are pretty much obsessed with themselves so they don’t really care who you fall in love with. All the fear I had about coming out was self-generated. The sky didn’t fall down. The sun came up the next morning. Eureka!"

  1. Note to self: Attend more opera.

Note to Andy: A little less Sarah Palin advertising would be nice. Getting kinda tired of seeing that hags face plastered all over Towleroad.

  2. I have another theory on the overshooting pilots - they were engaged in a mile-high club exercise - having sex together in flight. It's a more plausible explanation than reviewing work schedules on laptops.

  3. Jane Valez who? The Burj Dubai is vile looking, as are all of the buildings the lead architect has designed. And in dubai's failing economy, a big mistakey.

  4. Don't get me started on the barihunks. Nathan Gunn, Simon Keenlyside (I'm seeing him sing Hamlet with Natalie Dessay at the Met next Spring!), Teddy Tahu Rhodes, Erwin Schrott, and Paulo Szot (who plays for our team! hurrah!) . . . they all make me giddy inside (and out).

  5. Next year in Tel Aviv!

  6. Delurking to say, Yay for barihunks! I've been waiting for mention of these singers on Towleroad. Mariusz Kwiecien (who is gay also) is my favorite! Loved King Roger from Paris where he's in sheer white boxers for almost the entire performance. Can't wait for HIS Escamillo at the Met. Four words: TIGHT PANTS NO UNDERWEAR!

Don't forget Daniel Okulitch completely naked in The Fly and Zachary Stains completely naked in the Vivaldi opera (on Youtube).

  10. Hey, Jim. My girlfriend says the same thing. The Mile High Club exprience, but I doubt they're gonna come clean. Makes you wonder.

  11. Re: those Polar bears. As one of the White Trash Princess's fans said while waiting to buy her book in Ohio last week: "Let's get them off the endangered species List" so the oil drilling can commence. It looks as if natural events will take care of that.

  12. Kiri TeKanawa and Bryn Terfel's NON-operatic work aside, I've never understood the whole Opera Queen thing. But with barihunks I'm beginning to understand!
