  6. Great shot - and doesn't the Queen look snazzy in that all black ensemble.

  7. Sigh - but why is she curtsying? She's not a member of a population that owes obeisance to the crown. Just ask Miss Manners...

  8. The Gaga looks like she’s stepped straight off the set of Little S&M House on the Prairie!

  9. Methinks Gaga doesn't probably care much about the crown, but she does know what battles to fight and which controversies aren't going accomplish anything larger than herself. Her little show of respect costs nothing and only makes her fame, which she uses to great effect, grow stronger. Good for her.

  10. Damn, she looks fine.
    Elizabeth II that is.

  11. The Queen is getting more stylish as she gets older...she has outlasted everyone.

  12. I love that the Queen has a real smile on her face...rare!..GO GAGA!!

  13. Wow, Lady Gaga made the Queen smile.

Goes to show how Lady Gaga definitely has the "it" factor, and will succeed. It's great to have a great supporter like Lady Gaga behind us, too.

    You go gurl!

  14. That's a man, baby! A man!

  15. OH MY GOD!!!

    She bowed to the queen!

She should NEVER bow to someone from another country! Why it's almost like if the POTUS bowed to... er wait.

  16. God save her Gracious Majesty, and long may she live. It is so great to see her out partying and having a good time and still looking fabulous. I love it that her and Michele Obama are new BFFs too.

Also, follow the link to the site and see a pic of ER with Bette Midler, who also looks about a couple of old broads who have seen it all!

  17. i love ALL queens, but especially that big one in England. look at her smile! she's one cool old lady. she drove an ambulance during WW2!!! can you imagine all she's seen in her life, from that special perch too! and KUDOs to LaGaGa for curtseying. Respect is NEVER out of style. she just went up quite a few spaces in my book.

  18. O Marc C. Even found a way to turn a Lady Gaga post into a swipe at Obama. How cute. Any jokes about Bush kissing Saudi princes?

  19. Cool that Lady Gaga showed respect to the's shows some character and I loved her for that!

To Marc C: from what I know, Lady Gaga is from Canada....and The Queen is the Head of State of that country and therefore...ALL Canadians are Her subjects as well...

  20. @Joven: Actually, according to her bio on her official site, Lady Gaga is from New York. I know, shocked the hell outta me too.

Anyway, regardless of where she's from, respect for the longest reigning monarch in English history is definitely something classy. I know I'd bow to an English royal (just which side of me I'd present when I did would depend on the royal >:-) ) if I ever had the chance to meet them. Fact is, she's a citizen, not a FORMAL representative or leader of her country. Respect when not among perceived equals = good politics and publicity. Go GAGA!

  21. Thanks Clint for the prompt to open up the link and see a true friend to the LGBT community for nearly 40 years- the incomparable Bette Midler- who is a consumate entertainer, humanitarian and friend of the environment.
Makes a person wonder- will GaGa be around in 40 years-still making an impact in as many areas as the true divine one?

  22. It's like someone from Star Wars meeting someone from Earth.

    Posted by: FernLaPlante | Dec 8, 2009 10:00:11 AM

  23. Steve, the current Queen is not the longest reigning monarch. That title still belongs to Victoria. ER II needs a few more years to beat the record. Looks like she is up for it.

  24. Our forefathers fought a war so that Americans would not have to bow to the English crown. It's not "protocol," it's disrespect for the people who gave their lives to free America.

  25. Rob, our forefathers fought a war so that we could bow -- or not -- to whomever the hell we feel like.
