Sarah Palin on 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell': 'Not Right Now'

Sarah Palin appeared on FOX News Sunday yesterday and was asked if the military gay ban should be repealed.

Said Palin: "I don’t think so right now. I’m surprised that the President spent time on that in his State of the Union speech when he spent only about 9 percent of his time in the State of the Union on national security issues. And I say that because there are other things to be worried about right now with the military. I think that kind of on the back burner, is sufficient for now. To put so much time, and effort, and politics into it, unnecessary."

  2. Did she have to read her responses off the palm of her hand again?
America's best and brightest- you betcha!

  5. This notion that we should patiently continue to wait to do the right thing until the "time is right" is sickening.

  6. Where the hell does she get off thinking she is an expert on military? She is also concerned with time spent on her issue (9 minutes) ... Didn't Obama spend less than 1 minute saying he wants to repeal DADT? This woman is crap.

  7. This is the theme the GOP has been going with on DADT. "Not right now"... trying to make it look trivial and out-of-touch compared with the 'bigger picture' of national security. Its just an easier and more manipulative way of saying "no" while trying to look more concerned with defense issues than Obama.

This "why is he talking about it" strategy fools no one. They will never favor the repeal, if the day should come that they are even willing to discuss it, that much will be clear.

  8. She talks about national security being a priority yet discounts the importance of recognizing, valueing and respecting a portion of the very individuals who help keep our nation secure.

In her worldview, it's OK if we keep our nation secure, but let's do it with only the people she approves of.

Plain and simple: she's a hypocritical bigot.

  9. I watched most of that interview, while switching back and forth between FOX and Hillary on CNN. The differences between their responses and knowledge about world issues is STRIKING! While Hillary provides answers steeped in facts and reality, Palin talks in generalities. Not once does she ever provide a "solution" to any of the problems this country faces, just more "gee golly wiz, that's so darn tootin hard to think about, let me just give you a cute quip instead."

If she couldn't take the heat while governor of Alaska, wait til she throws her hat in the ring for the Republican nomination. Not only will the national press eat her alive, the elitist within her own party will rip her to shreds. They cringe at the notion of her winning anything on a national level.

    This should be fun.

  10. This Woman is really riling up that part of white america that resents any kind of change. I think she needs to be very careful before she becomes responsible for something she may regret.

    What an idiot!

  11. Why should America listen to her?
    Don't give her any platform!
Dumb housewive's tales, kitchen table talks, no understanding of politics, economy, facts... how things work.
She thinks she is an expert on... many things and DADT. Because she has so much experience.

Where did she set an example? She quit her post when it got tough. But this way she can make more money - America's god.

  12. I think SHE's UNECCESSARY!

  13. No one listens to her save the 600 retards that attended the "Tea Party Convention." The media, however, is devoted to her. It's convinced she's hot shit -- rather than th piece of shit she actually is. She belongs on the slag heap -- right next to Carrie Prejean. Remember her?

  14. She wants to invade and bomb Iran. She needs the extra bodies for that mission. That's why repealing DADT should make sense to her.

  15. Can we please get this woman out of the national political dialogue? Stop clicking on stories about Palin: if the media realizes she's no longer a cash cow, they will stop covering her. If we make clear to the media that she is irrelevant and we don't care about her--we don't want to read about her, watch her, or listen to her--maybe they will get the hint!

  17. But remember folks, as the log cabinites keep reminding us, there's really no difference between Republicans and Democrats on gay issues.

  22. What business is it of hers if the president wants to repeal DADT. It is none of her fucking one cares what she thinks. she didn't win, she has no chance of a win in the future...she needs to shut the fuck up!!

  23. i hope she writes her notes on her hand with something permanent or else she won't know what to say if her hands get wet. this is what our country is going to? there was Washington Jefferson Lincoln then we end with bush clinton and maybe palin sell my government bonds

  25. It's just shocking that everytime she opens her mouth dumb falls out. She doesn't even sound smart. Thankfully, her fan base is a small fraction of America most of whom are phobic idiots so there is no talking sense to these people anyway...she's just laquering the same wall over and over.

It's just sad that she has any public following. John McCain will regret this the rest of his life. Sarah Palin gives everything she represents a shallow, glib, dopey view. I don't even like the woman on any level and I'm embarrassed when she opens her mouth. Dumb, dumb, dumb...
