RoadNJ school bans gay book: "School officials formed a study committee and ultimately decided to keep two of the books. But they voted to remove 'Revolutionary Voices: A Multicultural Queer Youth Anthology,' which includes graphic language and an etching of Boy Scouts watching two men have sex. The school board unanimously approved the action Tuesday. Steven Goldstein, chairman of the gay rights group Garden State Equality, says he doesn't have a problem with removing a book over graphic content."

RoadMichael Musto: Ticked Off Trannies with Knives should get a GLAAD Award. "For one thing, GLAAD found it demeaning that the characters seem more like drag queens who could easily be considered 'ridiculous caricatures' of femininity—I guess to them, the only good transsexuals are the ones trying to blend quietly into society—but I found the women funny, tart-tongued, and caring. (So shoot me if they were also breasty and well-accessorized.) I adored them! And they even use condoms!"

RoadChaz Bono secures official name and gender change: “Today the Transgender Law Center represented Chaz Bono in a petition for change of name and gender. The court granted the petition and Chaz now has a court name change and a court order recognizing him as male. Chaz couldn’t be happier. This is an important step in his transition and will allow him to change a variety of his identity documents to show who he truly is.”

  1. "which includes graphic language and an etching of Boy Scouts watching two men have sex."

It does not! The illustration is by an artist who juxtaposes images, in this case an iconic boy scout image and an image of two men. The scout leader is not pointing AT the two men -- the images are just next to each other.

  2. Michael Musto is right. I'm so sick of GLAAD always picking fights with the people who are actually on our side. And don't get me started on their silly, pointless "Media Awards" joke they run every year. Something about giving people awards for painting attractive portraits of gay people has always seemed weird to me.

  3. Regarding netbook vs ipad - the graph linked displays market GROWTH. That is to say, netbook sales are still up, just not as dramatically as they were in previous months. A more accurate graph would display total sales, showing the curve leveling off at the top (suggesting market saturation) instead of being shown as is, seemingly shrinking exponentially. Maybe someone at Fortune with a few shares in Apple got to plot the data?

So the right conclusion to draw from this graph is that the market has actually reached saturation and is not actually nosebombing, like the author is trying to say?

  4. Chaz Bono - why do we care? As a gay man, I have no interest in individuals who have a desire to change their gender identify.

I mean, yeah, we can include every Tom, Dick and Shari on the Gay Bus - but what does Chaz bring to the party, really?

  5. What a clown Michael Musto is. Take him to a three ring circus and mount his ass on an elephant! He'll adore the attention. Whoring for attention is what this uncalled-for endorsement of the Ticked-Off Trannies film was all about.

  6. @Scientitian: To say nothing of the fact that netbook sales (like sales of most electronics) peaked during the holiday season, then naturally fell.

@BobN: Are you really trying to defend this, or are you being sarcastic? I'm all for graphic representations of sex, but I'd agree that public school libraries aren't the best destination for them.

  7. Michael Musto's the personification of VD. Each time I walk into a public restroom (rare, because they're fuckin' filthy), I keep on expecting to see him there, toe tapping for trade.

  8. TANK's the personification of a douce bag fucktard and why birth control is so very, very important.
