Photos: Lady Gaga as a Man for 'Vogue Hommes'?

Jo1

Check out these photos of 'Jo Calderone', said to be Lady Gaga's alter ego, shot for the latest issue of Vogue Hommes.

Popeater writes: "Perez Hilton and Gaga's stylist, Nicola Formichetti, teased the Twitterverse this morning with photos of a mysterious male model -- one that happens to have a strikingly familiar profile. Formichetti credits the model as 'Jo Calderone,' but he later linked out to a blog debating whether or not the mystery man is indeed Gaga. And that's good enough for us."

Showstudio is releasing two images every day this week.

Three more shots, AFTER THE JUMP...

  2. Well it's got to be her, because as a genuine male model that guy would never make it to the pages of Vogue Hommes.

She's really going to ride out the silly rumors about her being a guy, isn't she? I think that's great---sort of like reclaiming derogatory terms used for minorities.

  3. Gaga IS a GUY!!!!!

Thanks for pulling your drag "Lady"

  4. In all honesty, I would fuck him. I would fuck him hard. She pulls it off too well.

  5. Why does this website continue to feed into this over-hyped last attempt for a failing music industry to develop a cash cow? This site posts really important pieces of news for the glbt community from across the globe, and yet every time I log on here there's something else irrelevant and redone with a label of high art by the industry's latest lame duck.

  6. The industry's latest lame duck? Gaga made $62 million in 2009; I'll take a piece of that lameness.

  9. She looks like Nick Adams.

  10. The pathetic queens who can't STAND that GaGa is successful and popular are embarrassing themselves (and, for the most part, too embarrassed to comment under their real names). I don't get it...she's pro-gay, can sing, has a very smart, art-world approach to making pop...if you don't like the tunes, who cares? Focus your fire on people who are anti-gay at least.

Also, to CUM OUT: Why are you and so many gay people so reactionary about gender? She's more progressive than you, who would probably feel safer in a Miley Cyrus lip-synching video watching a soap opera than sampling an artist as adventurous as GaGa is. (And the sad thing is, it's not like she's Bjork or some out-there artist to begin with; she's edgy pop but still pop.)

She's hot at the moment...get over it.

  11. @jeffnyc so says the guy who doesn't post his real name either! Gaga doesn't do shit for "the community.." other then gladly taking our money! She exploits our community to sell records. If you can't see that you are blind as a bat. How do you think she made that 62 mill this year. We make people like gaga and Madonna into gay icons. when they do nothing for our community and we forget about those that do fight for us ex.Judy Gold.

  12. You're right, Matthew. There's no getting through to people like you. Enjoy their music made and marketed for consumers like you and the rest will all enjoy our own.

  13. SNORE. Now she's pulling a sub-par Marcel Duchamp. Rrose Sélavy, anyone?

  14. Didn't Annie Lennox do this in a music video back in the 80's. I'm not usu one to hate, but nothing this girl ever does is original, why do ppl love her so much??

  15. @DaveNY Please tell me you're joking! Gaga has done A LOT for the community. It was because of her that I have accepted my sexuality and I know a lot of gay youth have "come out" because of her. Not only that, she has made people (straight and gay) to accept the parts of ourselves that make us different and embrace our inner "freak". Gaga has also done many things for the gay community when she's not busy on her tour like the March for Equality in DC and gave a powerful speech.

Btw your comment should have been directed towards Matthew not JeffNYC.

  16. Wow a lot of Lady Gaga hate, even if she is just an industry made person doesn't mean we really have the right to judge her. We fight everyday for acceptance yet we are so quick to name call and be just rude to others and to ourselves. Grow up everyone. Can't we just accept that she's weird and popular and happens to be an ally to the community. Even if you feel she doesn't do enough its one person at least not bashing us.

Anyway I liked the photos and think she makes a good guy. I enjoy her music because it's fun, it's not the best it's simply entertaining. What more can you ask for?

  17. Gaga = pure nostalgia

Maybe she can do some 80's covers when the cabaret gigs begin in 8 years.

  18. @Electro - I'm totally with you. Gaga's strong support for the gay community and her willingness to be herself no matter what really helped me when I was coming out. I remember thinking to myself that if Gaga could be Gaga then I could be me.

I don't particularly want to get in a bitch fight, but I have nothing but love and respect for the Lady.

  19. She has done more for our community then anyone else...of her stature. Its kind of embarassing to read these comments. She stands up for you, then you diss her....You don't have to like her, but come on. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

    Posted by: wonderer | Jun 30, 2010 1:32:23 AM

  20. ....and by the way. To the ones that SO worried about her taking "gay money"...I'm sure SHE would have turned down Rush Limbaugh.

  23. Anyone ever see that movie "Just one of the Guys". Here is a link to the picture of the woman who pretends to be a man...spitting image!

  24. Some of you queens are spitfires. If half of you took that energy to a Queer Rising meeting or a pro-gay rally instead of pontificating over Lady Gaga the gay "community" would be in much better shape. Just Saying.

  25. The one comment made about this whole thing that really is the only one that makes sense is the fact that 'we' are so judgmental to everything posted yet as a gay/lesbian person, we fight as a community everyday for acceptance...how can we justify bitching about/putting down/making fun of everything/everyone else? In a therapists view, theyw ould say that screams insecurity. Until 'we' are all completely treated equal, it seems fair to not go after others.
