Lt. Dan Choi Now Fully Discharged from the Army

Gay City News notes that Lt. Dan Choi's discharge under "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" has now been fully processed, in a newly-posted article about his D.C. protest charges:

"Choi lost his battle with the Pentagon on June 29 when his discharge from the Army under the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy was finalized. While Choi’s National Guard unit informed him by registered mail and with phone messages, he has not disclosed the action. He did not respond to an email seeking comment."

  5. It's such a shame - he's an intelligent patriot who is truly fighting for equal rights for all people. The fact that our armed services have discharged him is disgraceful.

  6. How fucking repulsive! How infuriating and criminally stupid. This man is ten times the soldier and patriot those who dismissed him are.

    Where's our "fierce advocate" today?

  7. He has been hired by GetEQUAL for $89,000 a year. He was only making $35,000 in the Army. It pays to handcuff your self to the White House fence and then starve for a week.

  8. It always cracks me up when media whores suddenly clam up when things don't go their way.

  9. @ ANDREW AND HENRY: and what have POND SCUM like you done for our equality.

Have you come out to the world on television and newspapers?

    Have you gone to jail?

    Have you risked federal prison?

You pathetic traitors to your own community!

  11. @Andreww: Don't you have some GAY Inc defending to do somewhere? That IS your day job isn't it?

  12. Well we knew this would come about, didn't we? As unfair as it is, it was not unexpected or unpredicted.

Now he'll have more time for photo ops chained to fences and stopping traffic!

  13. Didn't I just pay a bunch of taxes to fund the military? What's wrong with this picture?

  14. I don't care a wit if what they say about Korean men is true. Choi is a revolutionary hero. I wish there were more guys like him walking point.

  15. So then, He's pissed off and no longer has to hold back.
    This should be fun.

  16. Choi's got balls. I admire the guy. It's easier to roll with the punches - Choi fights back like a man.

America loses because he's been discharged - men like him are what we want in our Army. America gains because of this discharge - he's the perfect spokesman for the unfairness of the policy, and this WILL promote change.

I am so proud of you, Lt. Choi.

  17. The man is a hero.

I hope he ends up making over $200,000 per year as he continues to fight for GLBT equality.

    Go Lt. Dan Choi!
