  1. Matt26 says

There is no point. I just don’t get why so many people follow them and listen to them when they have nothing to say.

  2. Matt says

I think we should restore our country’s honor by reaffirming the separation of church and state.

It disturbs me when people regard a self-admitted entertainer as a de facto political leader.

  3. Disgusted American says

..while I understand, as all Americans should..they – like me – have a RIGHT to Free speech…but to do it under the this false premise / and fake caring..only to further thier own personal careers..using people (stupid people) ..on MLK’s Anniversary,in the same place….as a 50yr old white American, it sickens me. I guess Glen beck is hoping this will go down in history as some great spectacle? Its pathetic..and says alot, about the sad state of affairs thsi country has devolved into….

  4. says

Tired of these people and their thinly disguised racist undertones. Taking back America from what? A black president?

Glen Beck is a manipulator for ratings and nothing else – his only idol is money and how to get more of it by being controversial – not for any so-called ‘honor’ for America.

There is an article in the Washington Post that few young people were present – meaning that it is the older population that remembers and cherish a past of segregation and un-civil liberties that attended; people that are frankly predominantly white, conservative and probably Republican more than ‘tea baggers’.

This sort of rhetoric is gonna climax with something big and not necessarily good…..I hope I am wrong.

  5. patrick nyc says

I find it ironic that the only ones who would use a gun to take out these two loser/hate mongers are members of their own party. You never hear of left wing nuts using violence. Sigh.

  6. Brains says

This entire day has been an international embarrassment for America. We have once again proved to the world that we are dominated by a sub-literate populace, easily led by snake and oil salesmen! Was eight years of Bush not bad enough!

    Disgusting!

  7. John says

The whole “restoring honor” and “rightful destiny” rhetoric is, of course, reminiscent of the 1930s. And I am not talking about Roosevelt’s fireside radio addresses. There’s an aura of creepiness to this that should make all minorities very nervous.

  8. GrabbinNewscum says

I’ve attended gay rights rallies where I also hear platitudes and boilerplate.

Just depends on whether you’re already receptive to the message whether or not you think it’s substantive.

  9. Bobby says

I forced myself to watch this whole mess. Interesting how it seemed the only non-white people in attendance were those paraded as props on the stage.

Then to bring out a Rabbi to display their so-called tolerance for other faiths (Beck did mention mosques in a somewhat positive tone), then to have the Christian preacher next to the Rabbi be the only one allowed to offer a prayer and then proclaim Jesus with the Rabbi RIGHT THERE…that is the kind of tastelessness this svengali Beck is known.

I wonder if Beck has figured out yet that it wasn’t the Jews who killed Jesus as he recently said on his show!?!?

  10. Bobby says

BOBN, there were tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands there, all the way back to the Washington Monument and filling the fields on the sides of the Reflecting Pond and the area behind the stage up the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

OH! I forgot to mention this in my earlier post. The preacher in his prayer kept saying, “You, oh Gods”. Gods????? and the he said “One nation under Gods.” Gods, again? I found that very odd.

  11. If Only It Rained on Their Parade says

“Restore Honor,” in other words, get the black guy out of the White House.

“Back to god,” in other words, get the gays.

It’s as though the three stooges staged a Nazi rally. Where was Rush Limbaugh?

  12. Stephen says

I find it very disturbing that so many people would follow these entertainers. They really are the worst of the worst. Sure, the media is full of celebrities, but people like Rachel Maddow and Anderson Cooper don’t hold political rallies. Any semblance of journalism coming from Fox news should obviously be viewed as propaganda! What’s worse is that to Glenn Beck and Palin this is just a game. And people take them seriously! And for what? Hate. It starts with their unfounded hatred of something which Fox news then reports on and they immediately pick up that belief like they heard it from Fox news, but they really heard it from themselves first! How can they be so blind?!

  13. Bobby says

Plus, all of the money collected today goes toward paying for the rally FIRST (what amount does Sarah require in addition to her bendy straws?)…what is left over (if any) will be donated to the soldier foundation. CrapSlappers, every single one of them!

  14. Sean R says

It’s a bit like that election episode of South Park, only the douchebag and the turd sandwich on the same platform…

  15. Piper says

They have a right just as everyone else to gather and talk about their “movement.” The one truth that remains is the mainstream will never bend in this radical direction. More importantly, the Republican party is quickly being split by all the Tea Party intrusion.

  16. armenistis says

The only purpose of this so called rally was to stroker the over inflated egos of Glenn Beck and Palin….icky poo!

  17. TANK says

The point is that these people make their livings like preachers…they create problems and controversey from thin air, and provide stupid, uneducated congregants with “hope” by lying their asses off and making tidy profits from the deafening stupid (glenn makes about $18 million per year as a propagandist). People who follow glenn would follow anything…all they need is a direction; it doesn’t really matter where.

And don’t get discouraged by the numbers–this is a old propaganda tool…every rally you have should be PACKED, regardless of actual support…it gives people the illusion that support is larger than it is… And besides, 23% of america thinks obama’s a muslim…these people don’t matter…unless you’re making off of ’em by telling them what they want to hear, that’s it going to be okay, that their baseless asinine fears are well founded, and that all they need to do is pay. “no, no, you’re not a moron…you’re a well informed citizen…buy my book.”

  18. Bobby says

Tank, now if ther were 300,000 people at a gay rights rally in D.C., we’d all be crowing about what a resounding success. Attendance numbers matter (if only 10,000 showed up today, we’d be having a big laugh)..but what is more important is always what happens the next day. In most cases it’s a big sense of deflation.

  19. says

when beck talks about taking america back and taking mlk day back i think he sees nonwhite events are somehow theirs for the taking or have been burgled from them. they want their fingers in everything and resent an afro-centric celebration. everything must be anglo-centric.

  20. TANK says

And what is that supposed to mean, bobby? The fact is that we don’t have a reliable number of people who showed up because those numbers stopped being taken in ’95. But the fact remains that this is a well established propagandist tool to sustain the illusion of broadbased mainstream support when it simply doesn’t exist. And 300K people does not broadbased support equal in a country of three hundred million.

Also, the issue does matter (some issues are simply superior to others, and more important). So if 300K people showed up for a gay rights rally (civil equality rally), it would, in fact, be a great thing because all causes aren’t equal. And there really isn’t a cause here other than fomenting the groundless hostilities of extremely ignorant unhappy people whose lives just didn’t work out as they wanted, and telling them that their fears are justified in some way, and all in the name of profit for beck, palin, and the rest of the professional right.

At least the most of the great propagandists of history weren’t just in it for personal gain…which makes their efforts all the more pathetic, and their abilities all the more shabby. Hitler, for example, desired world domination…more than money. Stalin wanted to make himself god…more than money. You can be greatful that their “vision” doesn’t exceed dollar signs, and that even if it were to (e.g., palin) that they’re far too incompetent to execute its fulfillment.

  21. Max says

Ok, time to send some free-speech “liberals” into an apoplectic rage. I would gladly take Beck, Palin, and all their Christians over Obama and his Saudi-funded 9/11 victory mosque any day.

Hysterical cries of “racism!” in 3… 2… 1…

  22. says

Actually we ‘do’ need to watch this group and their ilk, very, very closely. Hitler did not ‘start’ out by announcing to the German people that he was going to bring a ‘world’ war upon their heads, or exterminate whole nationalities of people he believed were not of the ‘master race’…. he started out slowly… just. like. this.

And as far as the Rabbi… well, after all, Israel is going to initiate the second coming… so they must be placated… for now.

  23. TANK says

beck and the professional right aren’t hitler. I mean I hate to say it, but Hitler would wipe the floor with these “pundits”. We don’t need to watch these extremist fringe morons closely. The mainstream should be as concerned with the teapartiers (a totally disorganized alagamation of disgruntled older racist whites spouting oft incoherent and otherwise absurd corporate interests)…they pose no threat, because they have no coherent ideology.

  24. Max says

Aleabeth, I find it laughable that you equate Beck to Hitler when anti-Semitism is arguably the most prominent feature of the left. All you have to do is say the word “Israel” and “liberals” start frothing and spewing their predictable filth and bile. Try it.

  25. Bruce Wayne says

Sadly….frighteningly…what he means by ‘Restoring Honor’ is RELIGION! He has said it on his show many times, that the ‘only hope’ now for fixing this country is ‘god!’
    DE-LU-SION-AL!
Oh, a personal observation–I think someone misspelled that saying on our money….it should be ‘In GOLD We Trust!’
    ^^X^^

  26. Jason (the commenter) says

It wasn’t tens of thousands, it was hundreds of thousands. Why does this post have to be a lie from the very first sentence?

  27. Zach says

Whole lot of stupid going on in Washington. Just remember that this lunacy is what’s going to be driving the country into the ground, given enough apathy from liberals, progressives, and sane people. Don’t let them take the reins again; twenty-eight years was enough.

  28. TANK says

The left doesn’t know propaganda. I…was born with the ability to sell anything to anyone. They don’t get the mindset. However, the teaparty (and that’s what this is), is no threat…they are a disorganized mass of idiots.

  29. Ed M says

I very much agree with John as to there being something reminiscent of the 30s. I would reccomend (if it is still in print) that people read Sinclair Lewis’ “It Can’t Happen Here”. It is a frightening novel that predicts such people as Beck and Palin and their ilk.

  30. MarkDC says

Total retard live. This is about Glen Beck’s bank account and nothing else.

Without Lazyboy recliners with drink holders they all probably got tired and cranky. Given there is no Cracker Barrel or Hardees on The Mall they all probably slipped into diabetic comas halfway through the speech.

Karen Finley’s got nothing on this guy. All he needs to do now is smear chocolate all over his naked body and have his National Endowment for the Arts grant revoked.

    Next performance artist please!

  31. nic says

@MAX why do you suppose, then, that most jews are liberal democrats. if you are trying to pick a fight here, you are really, really not worth the effort. why don’t you go suck beck’s dick or plow palin’s cunt?

  32. says

First of all… I don’t remember mentioning Beck or Palin or any ‘one’ individual in my comment at all… I said their ‘group’ needs to be watched… and those ‘like’ them.

And as far as using Hitler as an example… it was an ‘analogy’ on how the ‘masses’ can be brainwashed, fooled, bamboozled… [enter what ever euphemism you want here]… into believing just about anything. And like lemmings, following straight off a cliff.

Hitler started with building up the German Worker’s party and capitalizing on the growing sense of National Pride…

… what has been the Repubs byline in the past… what is the header for this rally… what did Palin keep saying over and over and over again in her speech [ad nauseum]?

Next step, what was plaguing Germany at the time? The economy… and where’s ours?

Now, who does Hitler blame for this? Why none other than the “internationalist” Jew’s and Slavs [read: Immigrants]

Then, start demonizing them. [um… excuse me, but what ‘exactly’ is the homosexual agenda???]

Does any of this sound familiar???

Maybe the individuals around NOW don’t have the same charisma as Hitler [because that’s the only thing that little fuck had going for him] but the foundation is there and it’s growing.

  33. Angie says

Bobby- I noticed the pastor saying “you, oh Gods” as well. You’re the only post I can find on the internet who questioned this. Does anyone know who this pastor is? I found it very disturbing. There is only ONE GOD!!!

  34. wimsy says

Angie – You forgot about Odin. And Zeus. and Amun. And Baal. And many, many others who were also worshipped at the same time as Yahweh — and who likewise have never been proven not to exist. LOL! Of course, I’m not suggesting Beck (a man who believes the Garden of Eden was in the U.S.) or his lapdog preacher, knows this.

I find it amusing that Christians who cite the 10 Commandments (10 out of the 613 total) fail to notice that their god requires that they have “no other god before me.” That acknowledges there ARE other gods — and demands that their god comes first. This is historically accurate. Check it out before you start screaming.

  35. Chris says

WOW..Listening to Max……..Gurl it’s nice you have your racial hate going on. While you don’t like Blacks your family don’t like fags like you…..
HMMMMMMMM Think it’s time to see a shrink….BITCH!

  36. Max says

    Hey Chris,

I wrote this: “Hysterical cries of “racism!” in 3… 2… 1…”

    You were right on cue.

  37. Jerry6 says

The unfortunate thing about the Beck’s and Palin’s of the world is that the Democrats and Independent’s who stay home and do not vote will put the next Republican Bush type in office again. What Bush spent on the Iraq and Afganastan(sp) wars has destroyed our economy more than the Real Estate fraud and Madofs (sp) of the world ever thought possible.

Oh, so Max meant DAYS. Silly.

  39. tom hooker says

Glenn Beck doing what he does best: promote Glenn Beck. Sarah doing what she does best: promote Sarah. If this movement was about restoring integrity, truth and honor, Glenn and Sarah should have stayed home.

  40. JD says

WOW why am not surprised by the ignorance and bias that radiates off of the viewers/creators of this site. I mean ALL of these people got together because they obviously hate blacks and gays and they love Hitler, that has got to be it. Right? I mean it couldn’t be that the HALF WHITE HALF BLACK president is running things into ground or anything. Right? NO no no no no no, it is because the thousands and thousands and thousands of the multicultural people there hate blacks, gays, and love Hitler. Seriously? Right wing nuts right? GROW UP!!!!! Seriously, whoa is me! Are any of the people there any different form anyone who visits this site? They want there rights just like you want yours. There are no racial undertones. NO ONE IS PERFECT!! Not even the ever so innocent Democratic party. So quick to defend the party that does not do anything for the gay community and a leader who has ignored the very existence of our problems. The best thing about the rally is that it gives America a voice, a voice that we have wanted for so long and you chose to ignore your chances. So, you prey on those who want their voices heard, Are you any different from the hate mongers that have kept you quite? I don’t believe you are. It is not a witch hunt, stop with this constant argument over the so called “true” meanings of their words and realize they are no different than us. Seriously….. grow up.

  41. TANK says

Yeah, JD…a voice that says nothing but “guvment done took my fraydumbs!, MAH FRAYDUMBS!” bought and paid for by corporate interests like the koch brothers. These schmuckos didn’t even know what cap and trade was until some corporate sponsor fed it to them and told them it was “da communisms comin’ ta take ya away to commie land! Think of your fraydumbs!”. This MERRIKAN history via squidbillies… A little more clarity around that reveals, “I don’t like people that aren’t like me, and it’s obama’s fault for everything…and bush was teh awesome, and had nothing to do with our current problems. And freedom and liberty for me and not for thee!” And to not overlook the racial composition of astro turfers is to bury your head in the sand. And this isn’t america’s voice. They don’t speak on behalf of america, only a disenfranchised disgruntled, uneducated portion of it that are the useful idiots of truly evil people who hate average americans…despise them, in fact.

  42. says

“I would gladly take Beck, Palin, and all their Christians over Obama and his Saudi-funded 9/11 victory mosque any day.”

Max, I assume you are aware that no one is more Saudi-funded than your friends at FOX news? Yep, it’s true! Obama could only dream of being so cozy with the Saudis. And they at FOX all loved the mosque 6 months ago. It’s only when they learned that they could score political points with it that they suddenly made it their issue du jour (shhhhhh, about their Saudi funders). But other than that, Beck and Palin are great, if condescending anti-gay sleazeball opportunists leading the sheep-like dimwitted masses are your cup of tea.

  43. JD says

Tank….Your whole speech there was in itself completely uneducated. You, your very self, are stereotyping. You find it ok to present bogus information but you yourself get angry when the other side does it? Me being the apparent uneducated part of the rally would like to say that you are hypocritical. You choose to believe one and only one opinion and try to fight for your so-called “cause” but in the end realizing you know absolutely nothing. I take extreme offense at being called uneducated and I will not go as far to say anything to disparage your name. I have my cause and I have my rights and I am entitled to my voice. We can go back and forth, you with your unchangeable argument and mine, so really what is the point. The point being I am entitled to my opinion and THEY ARE TOO!!!! So seriously…grow up. Educated enough for you? Now if you will excuse me I have to be “gettens to me traila” Huh, unbelievable.

  44. Harold says

I was there and it was GREAT!!! It felt great to be in DC and to restore the honor of America which has been stolen by the valueless, morally indecent and morons in this country.

Thank GOD for Mr. Beck and those who are stanging up for people like me and giving me a voice. Because every time I attempt to speak my opinion those of you who say you are tolorant won’t let me finish…

  45. Leila says

If you look at global statistics on sanity, the USA is leading the flock in insanity. We either need new psychologists or just plainly need people in control who have a little sanity left. Honor can’t be restored until the sanity is restored. And trust me people a pill is not going to give you sanity! The insanity is still there when the pill wears off………….. Hello?
