  1. on Thompson: I'm more upset that she dismissed the remarkably talented and beguiling Audrey Hepburn.

on the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center: What are they going to give the people who want to be married and enjoy the love of family, but haven't been lucky enough to find the "one"? These newlyweds are getting the best days of their lives ... they get free cake and champagne too?

  2. Please do not pay too much attention to polls in the Las Vegas Review Journal. They are extremely conservative and whole heartedly support the lunatic Sharron Angle to the point of doing puff pieces on her supporters T-shirts.

Nevada is way more conservative than you might think because of the huge number of Mormons here, but, I would take everything the RJ says with a grain of salt.

  3. Re: LA Gay & Lesbian Center marriage festivities
Now if only they would open up a room or two at the Village at Ed Gould Plaza at no charge for meetings of grassroots groups unaffiliated with the Center. But there's no press release potential in that... no chance of media coverage. There is a reason why original name of the organization in no longer used: The Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian COMMUNITY Center.

  4. Phillip Markoff's use of Craigslist to meet his alleged victims is incidental to the commission of the crimes themselves. Given the Ripper-like nature of these slayings of working class women allegedly by this son of privilege, it would be etymologically more correct to refer to these crimes as the College Republican Killings, given Markoff's active and enthusiastic involvement in that breeding ground of misogynists. These slayings were really the Republican Party platform carried out to its extreme, natural conclusion.

  5. Re: Emma Thompson's "Isle of Wright" comment - WAS A JOKE for God's sake and it was hilarious! I was on the floor laughing with the folks living on the Isle of Wright, whom I'm sure know she was only kidding. Even thinking about it now I laugh out loud. I love her. She is so quick-witted and if the folks on the Isle of Wright have anything to fear, it is the rush of tourism, especially gay tourism, they are bound to receive!
