The “Ground Zero Mosque” flap once again shows the hypocrisy of the Right. They don’t mind threatening someone else’s religious freedom.

I’m an ardent atheist who thinks all religion is bogus, but I defend everyone’s right to practice as they wish, as long as it stays personal and not political or policy-oriented.

Of course, the Pope makes xianity just as dangerous as violent jihad with his proscription of birth control in general, and condoms specifically.

[BTW, It’s been noted by others that Islam is in its “crusade” phase, or adolescence, the way xianity was during The Crusades—when it was about as old as Islam is today.]

Just in case you’re wondering… from Wiki:

The Earth takes approximately 365 days and six hours to revolve around the Sun. The extra six hours accumulate into an entire day every four years, so that a “leap year” will contain the extra 366th calendar day. The extra day is added as February 29 which only exists in a leap year.

That’s the fucking problem, right there. Anyone who opposes the mosque gets lumped in with sarah palin, this hate monger and loony tune bryan fischer, and the rest of the degenerate bigots who oppose the mosque purely to advance their own domninionist, theocratic ideals. People like bryan fischer are openly hostile to the first amendment, let alone the fourteenth. So practically, it might be useful to support the mosque in terms of their right to build it and remain silent about the moral implications…and let these shitbags twist in the wind. But that depends on where you’re running for office, huh…

if sanjay gupta had not sullied his name by sharing a bed whit pig (big) pharma, he might have “standing” in any ethical issue. alas, he does not.

there is nothing unethical or even insensitive about building a mosque 2 blocks away from ground zero. it was not the whole of islam which brought the towers down. it was 19 radicals. should we object to building a catholic church next to the site of the Alfred P. Murrah building? Timothy McVeigh was raised a roman catholic, after all. should we object to building any type of xtian edifice next to every abortion clinic that has been vandalized or bombed or where an abortion doctor has been slain? it is dismaying to me how, all of a sudden, towleroadies are embracing dick army, rep. peter king, sen. john cornyn, and every right wing yahoo from faux news.
