Watch: Whoopi Goldberg's Alleged Assault on White House Party Crasher Michaele Salahi

Major drama over at The View where Whoopi Goldberg apparently erupted after Michaele Salahi, the White House party crasher who is one of the D.C. Real Housewives, left in tears accusing Whoopi Goldberg of "outrageous abuse" for grabbing her on the air.

In fact, Goldberg touched her on the shoulder.

The Daily Beast:

What set Salahi off was when Goldberg came from backstage and approached Salahi on the air, saying something that was inaudible to viewers. According to Lisa Bloom, the Salahi's lawyer, Goldberg grabbed Salahi’s arm and said, “Move on, move on! Get to the White House!,” in an attempt to steer the conversation toward allegations that the Salahis party-crashed last year. The moment lasted all but a few seconds, but Salahi was apparently unnerved and remarked that she’d been surprised by Goldberg’s appearance. Co-host Sherri Shepherd remarked to the audience, “That’s Whoopi. She don’t come out unless she’s passionate.”

Then, after the show finished taping, Goldberg, according to the Salahis’ lawyer, Lisa Bloom, burst into a room Michaele was sitting in with Tareq and screamed: “I didn’t fucking hit you! Did you say I fucking hit you?” “She was screaming and dropping the F-bomb many, many times,” Bloom told The Daily Beast exclusively. Tareq apparently began filming the verbal altercation with his BlackBerry, though Bloom said he only caught “the last few seconds.”

If it wasn't already apparent that the Salahis have a warped view of reality, well...

  1. I actually watched this yesterday and while the Salahis definitely seem to be attention whores, Joy and Sherri were incredibly rude and disrespectful. They just sat there and shouted question after question at her, never allowing her to speak. I know the View isn't Meet the Press, but they could at least have some journalistic standards. It was like watching Bill O'Reilly shout down his guests.

  2. I wouldn't exactly look to this show for 'journalistic standards'. They're goal is to remain as kitchen table as possible and keep the (loud and incoherent) conversation going.

The entire stable of 'Real Housewives' come off as pathetic fame junkies and NEVER seem authentic about anything. This woman is living in a delusional dream world, which I suspect is the reason for hiring for the show anyway.

  3. Whoops I meant "THEIR" goal.....

  4. So Andy - your buddy at Bravo is an ass for bringing this obviously very sick woman more attention and legitimacy for ratings.

Can not stand him --- but he and this blond bimbo both seem to have Narcissistic Personality Disorder. So peas in a pod.

    Both disgust me.

  5. I agree that she and her husband should have been thrown in jail. I'm tired of the entitlement these so called 'stars' think they have because they got famous for being vapid and repulsive human beings. People watch because they are fascinated that human beings can be so ridiculous, not because they do anything remotely interesting. You don't sneak into the white house! It's as simple as that. With the president receiving countless death threats, it's not okay to try and thwart his security for some lame publicity stunt. Prosecute that bitch and show that it's not okay!

  6. seriously people feeling sorry for these plastic ugly skinny women?? they are whores. They work for money by selling themseleves on tele....they are trash. it is obvious money doesn't buy you class or manners. I think the view did right by just shouting at them like pigs.

  9. Give that Salahi bitch a "sammich" and maybe she'll close her mouth...

"Joy and Sherri were incredibly rude and disrespectful" No, they were FRUSTRATED because this chick so obviously FULL OF SHIT, puposely evasive and playing the role of victim in she got back the energy she gives off, so don't waste time trying to defend her with her "pleading the fifth" ass. She should be taken to task, she and her husband are flat-out phonies, even further proven by her attempting to turn a touch on the arm from a 'angry black woman' into a full blown accusation of assault...fuckers....

  10. Bosie, you said it perfectly. WHORES.

  11. The Salahis are classic troublemakers. Watch out for more of this where they go out of their way to make someone look bad so they could look good.

    Posted by: Bill | Aug 5, 2010 1:58:59 PM

  12. The Salahis are clearly narcissistic and delusional. They think that they had been invited to the White House, when they weren't. They think that Whoopi Goldberg hit her, when she didn't.

In the mangled, mirrored world of ratings-driven media, this feeds on itself. This incident drives up ratings for "The View" which, in turn, drives up ratings for the premiere of "The Real Housewives of DC." This drives up ratings and PR for Bravo which, in turn, encourages them to give more screen time on the show to the Salahis. This rewards the Salahis for their outrageous antics and, in effect, encourages them to continue their behavior.

In a dramatic and ironic twist worthy of Shakespeare or Tennessee Williams, the Salahis have made themselves into pariahs from the very social world that they are trying so hard to enter.

The Salahis are a cautionary tale, yet they don't see that. All they see is media attention, a book deal, and a rather unattractive asterisk in the history books.

Michaele should listen to another famous "hostess", Holly Golightly, "There are certain shades of limelight that can wreck a girl's complexion."

  13. Assault? Are you f**king kidding?

Salahi is a media whore and milking this for all it's worth. This is a non-story.

  14. I love that she has to travel with her lawyer as a member of her entourage. I'd hate to have to pay those legal bills.

  15. This crazy lady took the fifth before CONGRESS and then basically sells her story in a book? Whoever publishes this filth and/or puts them on the air should be ashamed.

  16. These fame whores deserve all the abuse that they get.

  17. Ok, dirty little secret, I'll be watching.

  19. I stopped watching "The View" over a year ago because the women on there are a bunch of bitches, and NOT in the good way, so I'm not siding with them, but the Salahi's are just a bunch of attention-seeking fame whores, so to hell with all of them.

    Posted by: Kyle | Aug 6, 2010 12:04:10 AM

  20. WTF is with Lisa Bloom and her celebrity chasing mother? Do they have all G list famewhores on speed dial?

Posted by: LG Wilson | Aug 6, 2010 2:57:54 AM

  21. I think the larger issue, and the more outrageous one, is that two people committee a national security breach and they are now being treated as minor celebrities. This is outrageous because it reveals a double standard in American politics. Can you imagine someone crashing a party at the White House when GWBush was there? They'd be in Gitmo before you could blink.

  22. This is inaccurate. The View played the tape from a different camera on the succeeding show and put an end to these rumors. However, Towleroad has perpetuated the fantasy of these women by throwing gas on the rumor fire. I read this blog daily (almost) and recently, much of the new has gotten to be two days behind. Disappointing.
