Watch 'The Most Incredible Thing': Pet Shop Boys Write New Contemporary Ballet

Given the fact that their last video was so dance-oriented, it's no surprise that the Pet Shop Boys have written a ballet. Today they announced "The Most Incredible Thing", a collaboration with choreographer Javier de Frutos, to debut in London on March 17.

The Sadler's Wells Theatre announces: "Featuring former Royal Ballet star Ivan Putrov, this modern fairytale centres on a contest to produce the ‘most incredible thing’, with a prize of half the kingdom and marriage to the princess at stake. With its thought-provoking narrative adapted by Matthew Dunster and film animation by BAFTA winner Tal Rosner, a 26-piece orchestra and a cast of 16, The Most Incredible Thing is set to be a highlight of 2011’s cultural calendar."

  1. Thanks for posting about the Boys, Andy. I credit them (and Madonna) for providing the soundtrack to my coming out. I have loved them ever since and always look forward to their new projects and albums. Viva PSB!

  2. Looks interesting, but too bad it doesn't seem to feature any same-sex couples. Or would that be too scandalous?

  3. @David - because gay artists* can only make art about gay stuff?

(and I know that Chris is straight, but Tal Rosner is Thomas Adès' ex-, so that's 66% gayness...)
