  1. Retired Rear Adm. George R. Worthington seems like he's trying to meet us halfway, but if he thinks all queers would go into clerical and medical specialties in the military, how does he account for servicepeople like Lt. Col. Victor Fehrenbach, who is such an accomplished fighter pilot that they scrambled him to defend Washington during 9-11?

  2. The retired admiral should read this:

Gay Navy Seal puts six gay-bashing frat boys in the hospital

  3. Jesse Metcalf has put on a bit of weight, but is still good looking. I think he made a big mistake when he left DH.

  4. "I don't think there is going to be that many of them that want to sign up for SEALs anyway"

Yo, if I weren't about to turn 44 and thought I could physically pull it off, that'd be an awfully tempting challenge.

  5. Toledo, and NW Ohio, are hotbeds of holy sightings. A woman in a Toledo suburb had visions of the Blessed Virgin Mary in her backyard about 15 years ago. The visitations continued and visitors supported the erection of a shrine. Local Catholic diocesan officials don't recognize the authenticity of the apparition(visible only to the original visitant, of course) but have not shut down the site nor forbidden attendance at gatherings there.
Almost 25 years ago, an enormous image of Jesus appeared on the side of a vegetable oil storage tank south of Toledo. It was visible from a busy road and created traffic problems. Numerous claims of miraculous healing were floated. I suggested to an acquaintance who visited the viewing spot a few times that his hemorrhoids might be cured if he dropped trou and sat on the fence with his nether parts in the direction of the tank. My other idea was to buy the oil from the tank, put it in discarded poppers bottles, and sell it as a curative on some television station. I was, unfortunately, unable to find a financial backer for the idea, though numerous people thought it was both feasibly profitable as well as a good example of niche recycling.

  6. There was this funny quote by a SF soldier in the Pentagon report that was read aloud by a couple politicians. It went like this:

"We had a gay guy in the unit. He was big, he was mean and he killed lots of bad guys. Nobody cared that he way gay"

  7. Like someone posted on the Jesus sighting article: it's really disturbing that these people are allowed to vote and have jobs that might affect other people. Here in WA State, we have an ongoing battle with pharmacists who don't want to dispense Plan B. Ugh, can't do your job? Get another one!

  9. The guy who saw Jesus and the Virgin in the candy was kind of sweet...Jesse Metcalf could have a career in gay porn...I'm sure there are plenty of gay navy SEALs.

  10. When I was a child we had a neighbor who lived behind us, who told my mother that she had seen jesus several times in our kitchen window. We all cried the day they carted her away for shock treatments.

  11. @matt26: do you expect mature men to look like anorexic twinks? This man is gorgeous, and certainly has less fat than 87.734% of the readers of this blog.

  12. I actually think Jesse Metcalf looks better than ever with a bit more weight on him. Maybe he doesn't have perfect abs, but he looks older and more like a man now.

It also helps that he finally grew in some nice facial hair and a bit of hair on his chest. If that girl he's with and Matt26 don't want him, I'll take him.

  15. I am always amazed when people claim to see Mary and/or Jesus in baked goods or hollow core doors or bank windows. It's not as if there are ANY photographs available. As far as they know it could be someone's Aunt Edna or Cousin Cletus.
