Oh, Boner is so full of himself. We should be asking where are the jobs? He and all the other Republicans campaigned on that ticket and they haven’t done squat. His opinion will matter when he and his corporate butt kissing Republicans got our national unemployment rate back down to 5%.

  2. NY2.0 says

I just love seeing the hypocrisy of conservatives. And how exactly are the attacks on Planned Parenthood and a woman’s right to choose creating jobs? Isn’t that divisive?

  3. Walter H says

Isn’t like the 2nd and 3rd thing that Boehner has put up for the Congress to work on redefining rape and abortion? I wasn’t aware that those issues *weren’t* divisive.

    Boehner, get a life.

  4. mikey says

Really Boehner? You really want to go there? The White House isn’t focusing on jobs because it chose to take a step toward equality? I’d like to know one thing the House has passed under your leadership that advances any kind of jobs agenda, because it seems like the only thing you’ve been concerned with is culture war issues like abortion.

  5. Rob says

“Why…now is the appropriate time to stir up a controversial issue that sharply divides the nation.”

Oh, the hypocrisy of these GOPers is beyond all belief and human decency. How can Boehner ask that question in the face of his party’s current actions in the House? Is he really as stupid as this statement makes him and his fellow GOPers/Teahadists sound??

Speaking of hypocrisy in their actions: Where are the jobs? Where are the jobs?? Where are the damn jobs, Mr. Speaker???

    ACTION NEEDED

President Obama has instructed the Justice Department to cease defending the so-called “Defense of Marriage Act” in federal court.

Obama is a friggin genius. He is underlining the fact that the GOP, when in power, will ignore the economy and jobs and just go right back to the culture-war stuff that turns off independents.

Where are the jobs, Boehner? WHERE ARE THE JOBS?

  8. candideinnc says

Obama needs to do a lot more of this stuff. The Thugs have had total control of the agenda of government for quite a while. All across the country they are agressively trying to undermine unions, the social safety net of Social Security and Medicare, women’s rights, and gay rights. If Obama starts setting the agenda instead of just reacting to it, he might become a real leader.

  9. Gregoire says

LincolnLounger, GOProuders, assorted anti-Obamaists — speak up! Now is your chance! Here is your forum. We’re listening. We had to slog kneedeep through your bullshit for MONTHS. Well, the chickens are coming home to roost. Why not join them and bless us with a remark?

  10. mike/ says

Mr Bo(eh)ner, then why are you pushing anti-abortion laws and attacking Planned Parenthood along with the NEA and other things that do not CREATE jobs but eliminate them?

  11. Lez says

As someone form Australia who now follows American politics nice to see comments against Boehner and his ilk regarding jobs versus abortion etc.

Looks to me like the dominoes are falling – keep up the fight guys the republicans with the help of the tea party are starting to implode.

  12. Dramaticartchild says

Ok, one more time. WHY are some Gays members of GOProud and LCR?”

Because some gays are greedy, entitled hateful people who are of the “I got mine so screw the rest of y’all” mindset just like their straight counterparts. If they were straight, they’d be no different. . .but in this case they like to have their dick and eat it too. . .
Its something I’m not even going to pretend to understand. But wait a minute! Dan Choi is always right! Screw Obama! He’s the worst president for gay rights EVER.
    ????
Psst. He’s also a commie pinko negro socialist plant who was born in Kenya.
No doubt a lot of the Obama angst here is from genuine disappointment. But some of it is something else. . .and we all know it’s true.

“According to the report, during its 140th period of sessions from October 20 to November 5, 2010, the commission held 52 hearings and 28 working meetings and concluded that “”structural human rights problems still persist in the region””. These include the situation involving people of African descent, women, persons deprived of liberty, and the “”gay”” community.
The commission expressed its concern about information it received concerning persistent practices in the Dominican Republic whereby persons of Haitian descent “”who were born in that country”” are denied their right to nationality. The commission believes that the Dominican Republic’s argument that “”there are no stateless persons in that country, since children born to Haitians in the Dominican Republic can be registered at the Haitian consulate””, is incompatible with the Inter-American Convention and case law of the Inter-American Commission and Court.
