Watch: Military Service Chiefs Report 'No Issues' with 'DADT' Repeal Implementation

Amos

At a hearing today before the House Armed Services Committee the four military service chiefs reported that things were going smoothly with training for 'DADT' repeal implementation.

Igor Volsky of the Wonk Room reports that Chairman Buck McKeon (R-CA) seemed "taken aback" that nobody could find any issues.

  1. What a load of s**t.
These old farts wanted to find issues......that's the kind institutionalised mind poisoned bigotry we have to change.

  3. What, you mean the subordinates are running the military and are actually listening to their superiors? What's McCain and his ilk going to think? They bet on total anarchy...idiots.

  4. Which, of course, begs the question: Then why the F not certify NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!

THE one thing empowering these hearings is that Obama Wan Kenobi refuses to certify yet so they can keep shooting at it as long as it's still alive which could be for months more...near the end of his THIRD year in office.

    WHY?

"The Pentagon could easily repeal the ban TODAY if there was the POLITICAL will. [Army Chief of Staff Gen. George] Casey in particular is leaving soon and doesn’t want to be known as the Army chief of staff who let gays in on his watch’, Belkin said. ‘THE FOOT-DRAGGING IS NOT ABOUT SOME SINCERE OR LEGITIMATE SENSE THAT THE TROOPS NEED TO BE TRAINED ON HOW TO DEAL WITH GAYS; it’s because they don’t want to be around when the policy happens’.” - Palm Center Director Aaron Belkin, Washington Blade, January 6, 2011.

“ I am embarrassed.... THAT IT WOULD TAKE A MILITARY THAT CAN GO HALFWAY AROUND THE WORLD TO UNSEAT A DICTATOR IN 30 DAYS MORE THAN SIX MONTHS TO COMMUNICATE SUCH A SIMPLE SET OF FUNDAMENTAL MORAL PRINCIPLES TO ITS FORCE IS UNACCEPTABLE AND UNNECESSARY.” - Maj. Gen. Dennis Laich (retired), Cochair, SLDN’s Military Advisory Council, Stars & Stripes, March 25, 2011.

“This training is not rocket science. THE SERVICES CAN GET THIS DONE BY APRIL 30TH. It’s simply taking too long, and it’s time to speed up the process.” – Aubrey Sarvis, Executive Director, SLDN, March 22, 2011.

  5. So McKean thinks he knows better than the four service chiefs and is fully aware of actions on the ground with implementation in all four branches? Moron. That's an insult to the service chiefs; he's close to accusing them of lying.

@JackFNTwist, I don't get your point. The service chiefs didn't report any issues. Sure, some GOP jerks wanted to find issues, and they were foiled. And they'll look ever more stupid, paranoid, and desperate as implementation proceeds and the sky doesn't fall to the ground.

  6. The only "issues" would be of insubordination of not following orders.

The debate is over. This is a question of implementation.

  7. For some reason this all reminds me of forty years ago when an officer in uniform using an umbrella was considered to be endangering the image of the manly military.

I guess now we'll be seeing more umbrellas, as long as they are black, and it damn well better be raining.

    Any other issues Sir?
