'90210' Removing Trevor Donovan's Gay Character Teddy
90210 is losing a high-profile gay character, TVLine's Michael Ausiello reports:
Sources confirm to TVLine exclusively that Trevor Donovan — whose heretofore-closeted alter ego Teddy was at the center of a high profile coming out storyline last season — will not be returning to The CW soap as a series regular for Season 4.
"I look back on getting this real-life story line as a blessing,” Donovan told TVLine in a statement. “To be able to simultaneously take on a challenging role and bring awareness to a relevant social issue was a win-win for me. I’m looking forward to what opportunities and adventures lie ahead.”
As producers phase out the character, he'll be limited to appearing in five episodes next season as a non-regular.

I doubt he'll have much trouble finding work, even if it's minor. He is damn good looking.

I started watching 90210 just for Trevor Donovan, even though the storyline went into laughably awkward tangents. I remember when Ian and Teddy were in love and ready to build a life together and then (when the guy playing Ian got another acting job) it took them a calm three-sentence conversation to decide to never speak to each other again.
Doors will open for Trevor Donovan, though. Hot man!

When this show returned in 2008 Donovan was turning 30 and playing a high school student! I know casting ridiculously older actors is a tradition on 90210, but Trevor's 32 now; time for more grown-up roles.

Hot guy, but he should have just gone with his real last name, which is Neubauer. (Donovan is his middle name.) "Trevor Donovan" always sounds very soap-y or porn-y to me.

No surprise here. Storyline has been phased out, and he's way too old to be playing a high schooler.

Guess that's one show I can stop watching....

I dont think the 90210 creators put enough effort in developing and promoting this storyline , but the again, in general HOLLYWOOD owes the worldwide gay community SO BADLY (same goes for smart, strong females roles and ethnic minorities)...I

gosh I don't know anyone who actually watches 90210, let alone anyone over the age of 20.

It is weird people around 30 plays teenagers (Alexis Bledel was teenager when Gilmore Girls began).
I guess TD wants to move on and play sth else also, not just teenager.
But then, perhaps the channel thought the storyline was too radical for US television.
I hope TD finds good roles.

it's a shame about his looks.

I think Trevor Donovan is wonderful. I love his Abercrombie photos. He needs to keep sharing that gorgeous face and body of his with his fans. I wish him much success and all of God's blessings for his life.
