'Ex-Gay' Organization 'Exodus International' on Verge of Collapse?
Ex-Gay Watch reports on a secret meeting held at Exodus International this month:
The subject was quite simply how to keep Exodus International from social and financial oblivion. In attendance were Exodus leadership, prominent religious leaders (such as Gabe Lyons) and lay people. The latter were mostly those who once counted themselves in the ex-gay camp but now are either in the process of changing their views or are fully gay affirming.
The meeting, called by President Alan Chambers, was a "Hail Mary" as the group seeks to climb out of seemingly insurmountable debt:
Three years ago, Exodus purchased a building for a little over $1.1 Million. This was at the height of the real estate bubble and it’s value must have decreased significantly since. While they seem to have shed as many of their obligations as possible, debt service for that building must be a great draw on their meager resources. According to IRS documents, they burned through $200,000 of their savings in 2010 alone. In short, if they continue on their current trajectory, there seems little doubt that Exodus will fold in the near future.
Knowing this, Chambers called the New York meeting together and posed the question, “how can we save Exodus?” Unfortunately for those of us who might have a glimmer of hope to the contrary, this plea does not seem to be based on any deep, inner change of heart or ideology.
Ex-Gay Watch says to look out in the months ahead for a re-branding intended to look spontaneous.
Exclusive: Secret Conference Held to ‘Save Exodus International’ from Ruin [ex-gay watch]

Look, they're just wrong. I mean, we might disagree about exactly why they're wrong, but I don't think there's a single person who's really given thought to this issue who believes that Exodus has anything valuable to contribute to our society.
I feel sad for the people who have worked hard for the ex-gay message. It was not only wrong, but harmful. And they probably know it now. It's time for the last vestiges of these ideas to go away. Preferably accompanied by an apology.

you gotta love this group. their message is literally "God doesn't care about ending war, famine, or curing little 5 year old Jessica of her leukemia, because He's too busy making these sad homosexuals develop a taste for pussy"
word.

Bwahahahaha!
Oops, I mean: "So sad that nobody is giving them money to psychologically torture gay kids and young adults any more, and they're drowning in debt. What a... tragedy?"

I'm trying to find out who "those who once counted themselves in the ex-gay camp but now are either in the process of changing their views or are fully gay affirming" are and why the hell they were at a meeting strategizing how to SAVE this disgusting and harmful snake oil industry.
Alan Chambers is getting VERY desperate. Exodus and its money is all he has. Without it he will be penniless and even more hopelessly unhappy than he is now.

What's truly pathetic is that these "ex-gay" guys are so void of any self-aware abilities they can't even see how ridiculously pathetic they are. The guy pictured above is SO gay, I'm almost embarrassed for him that he calls himself an "ex-gay". I mean, come on, it looks like he's just dying to break out into a Judy garland number! I'm sure he vomits a little every time he HAS to pleasure his wife.
He looks like he could be closeted Republican Fla. Gov. Rick Scott's closeted gay brother!

Clever. Can't believe nobody picked up on this before me.

The existence of this group is vitally important to the broader anti-gay movement. It allows them to dispute the "born gay" meme, using them as evidence, and allows the religious right to pretend they love gays and just want to help us see the errors of our ways. A million bucks is chicken feed in this context, and I can't imagine someone won't throw some money at this problem so they can continue the ex gay charade.

There are three categories of anti-gay people.
1 ) Ignorant people.
2 ) Self-loathing homosexuals.
3 ) Those who exploit the first two categories
and are probably making a living from it
( Exodus International, NOW, etc. ).

Chambers and Michele Bachmann have the same crazy eyes. It's creepy.

'Lay people'... tee-hee.

We can bash these people all we like, and they would deserve it, but I know there is no greater personal hell than denying who you are in terms of sexual orientation. It's far more than sex, it's part of an innate need that humans have of others. It defines deep, personal relationships that are very pivotal parts of our lives. To deny it is a cancer; it eats away at you second by second.
No matter how we bash them, their self-destructive behavior does far worse each and every day. It's not something I take joy in, it's something for which I feel overwhelming pity.

Don Schiermerer of Exodus board went to africa and is involved in helping incite a "genocide of gays bill with other evangelical xtians. (the type who in the past gave us slavery, the kkk, segregation and the civil war.
Maybe his contributors are waking up. But I doubt it
You might as well try to bring hitler back and make him appologize to the Jews.
Jesus, I'm sure has placed a construction contract for people like Schmierer, etc
Its rumored that final signoff ws done by Satan himself
