  8. Cute video. Love Madonna and MIA is kind of interesting to me, dancing all pregnant-at-9-months (a little while back) and not giving a flying-F about it.

  9. I am starting to feel sorry for Madonna. She let the world pass her by and now she seems so very desperate for attention.

  10. Why all the hate?

  11. Mommy never loved me for me, but only for what I was for her...so I transfer that onto any figure that reminds me of her: Madonna, Britney, institutions, bars, corporate America, gay inc., etc.

  12. I'm sorry, but take a nice long listen to "Kala" (or "Arular" for that matter) and tell me that M.I.A. is a 15 minutes of fame kinda artist. SHE IS MORE THAN PAPER PLANES.

  13. I still think Madonna is musically relevant.Despite what people think of her on a personal level, the fact that she has been producing commercially successful albums for the past 30 years says a lot. How many artists have been able to do that? very few.

  14. Yeah, the guitar. Such a serious musician she is.

Even more entertaining: watching her pretend to be "street"...

  15. M.I.A. is a political naïf and a willing mouthpiece for a (now blessedly defunct) terrorist organization, as well as a massive hypocrite and (as evidenced by her reaction to the NYT's exposé of her hypocrisy) a spoiled brat. She's also really, really good at writing kick-ass dance tunes. I hate myself for it, but I love listening to all of her albums. This notion that she's just been enjoying 15 minutes of fame is typical veiled hipster racism: latching on to anything new and "exotic" and then discarding it as soon as the ADD kicks in again (doubtlessly to return to some talentless, unshaven emo white boy on acoustic guitar).

Love her or hate her, I think Mrs. Arulpragasam will be with us for some time to come.
