Six South Carolina Gay Couples Denied Marriage Licenses: VIDEO

Wedo1

Last week I mentioned the "We Do" campaign and its efforts in South Carolina to draw attention to the need for marriage equality there by having same-sex couples request marriage licenses at various cities throughout the state.

Check out this great new video from the campaign featuring six couples, including two pastors (above) heading to marriage bureaus to request and be denied, the right to marry.

Watch, AFTER THE JUMP...

  1. Wait a minute!
There are black people in South Carolina?
    Who knew?!
All that press coverage and all those debates for the GOP led me to believe it was 100% white!

  2. The FIVE most important words in ALL of American history are: “ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL”. The Declaration of Independence is the basis for all freedom and all liberty. Thousands and thousands of Americans gave their lives for these five words.

Most Republicans, conservatives and right wingers reject the very concept of these FIVE words and have worked for years and years to over throw the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the American tradition of equality. Denial of equal access is actually illegal, even if these out laws have been successful.

It does not say anywhere, in any of the original founding documents, that a few select people are kings, queens or cleric’s and have superiority, supremacy and the right to discriminate, demote, demoralize any one in America. In fact the exact opposite is true.

The rejection of American values, for Conservative and Middle Eastern Values of religious supremacy, is technically as un American and as disrespectful to every person who has fought to make this a great nation as possible.

I don’t care how much you don’t like Gay people, or how much you demand to be treated like a Monarch, or that you feel you have the rights of a King or a queen, this is a free country and ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL.
