It’s moments like this that allow me to be happy to pay my taxes and by doing so, have this ability to simply KNOW things. the photo makes me feel like a starship captain who’s science team has just compiled an important environmental data set for my scrutiny. You go, NASA / Goddard!

MR BAKER – I agree, actually being able to KNOW things – more now than ever – is a great pleasure. And I enjoyed your unhurried video on your blog. Thank you.

Great video and lovely to look at, it reminds a little of Van Gogh’s “Starry Night”. It’s also a good illustration of the global ocean conveyor, which moves warm and cold water around and is vital in creating weather.

Love your science posts Andy, keep ’em coming.
