  1. Re the cupcake "ATM", you may have to explain to much of you audience what an Automat was. I can remember going to the Horn & Hardart one on 3rd Ave in NYC (in the around 34th St?) in the late 70s/early 80s.

  4. In terms of waiting time, I think the automat was better. You could browse the many individual windows (lower case windows, not Windows ;-)) rather than waiting to use a single machine. The ACM (Automatic Cupcake Machine) would probably work as an addition to a walk-in store. I have a very early memory of eating at one of the very last local automats and being fascinated by the plethora of options.
