Veteran Out Reporter Hank Plante to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award from AP: VIDEO
Retired KPIX, San Francisco, political reporter Hank Plante will accept the 2012 Stan Chambers Award for Extraordinary Achievement from the Associated Press Television and Radio Association on June 2 in Pasadena, California.
Plante was one of the first out gay reporters in the country. He tells Towleroad, "I never thought this award would be possible when I made a decision to be open & honest about being gay when I started in TV 35 years ago."
The AP based its decision to honor him on the amazing clip reel, AFTER THE JUMP...
Congratulations, Hank!
