Cynthia Nixon and Christine Marinoni Marry in New York

Sex and the City actress Cynthia Nixon wed her longtime partner Christine Marinoni on Sunday:

"On May 27, 2012, Cynthia Nixon and her girlfriend, Christine Marinoni, were legally married in the state of New York," her rep tells PEOPLE in a statement. "Nixon wore a custom dress by Carolina Herrera."

  8. Eventually, as marriage equality works its way through the states, stories like this won't even be news anymore. Only a very interesting lesbian marriage will receive attention - such as if Ann Coulter came out and then married Christine O'Donnell ("The only thing we had in common at first was being right-wing and anti-gay", say both brides with a laugh" - as a quote from People magazine might have it.) Or if Bristol Palin ended up in a civil union with one of Rick Santorum's daughters (headlines at JoemyGod: "Only the wine is frothy: Rick Santorum a no-show at daughter's gay nuptials.")
