Robert Mugabe Claims Gays Violate Women's Rights

RMugabeNot content with being just a standard homophobe, Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe claims that gay people are not welcome in his country because they deprive a woman of the opportunity to have children.

"Mothers were given the talent to bear children. That talent doesn't belong to men," Mugabe said at a women's HIV/AIDS human rights conference in Harare.

"When a man says he wants to get married to another man, we in Zimbabwe don't accept it. We can't talk of women's rights at all if we go in that direction. It will lead to extinction."

He and Charles Worley would have a lot to discuss.

  1. That is some of the most twisted thinking I've ever read.

  2. Who cares what Mugabe thinks? The man is nearly 90 and has said some of the stupidest things of any leader in modern times. That he was speaking at a human rights conference is patently absurd.

  3. So... I guess he has a problem with celibate priests, as well?
    Or nuns?

Gotta love how he's using "women's rights" as an excuse to discriminate. What about lesbians rights? Will they get help from the government to get pregnant? After all, women have a right to have children!

  4. Dammit! Every woman has the right to be married to a gay man who doesn't want her! This is civil rights, people!

  5. Well, Ronald Reagan left office before he went senile. This one refuses to go anywhere. To think that in the 1970s he was one of my heroes. Now he's just a silly but dangerous old man who tortures and starves his own people. Lucky devil...must have a great prostate.

  7. "It will lead to extinction." A common refrain of the mindless and brutal idiots that claim leadership whether as dictators, fundamentalist Christians or Republicans.

  9. Yes, clearly the human race will become extinct if we allow equal marriage.. Because obviously all men will turn gay and refuse to sleep with women and have children. Wow, heterosexuality must really be distasteful to everyone if it's so easy for everyone to go gay and childless. Well, if idiots like this guy become extinct, I have zero problem with that.

In response to Derrick from Philly, Reagan didn't leave office because he was becoming senile; he left because his eight years were up. I'm sure he would have stayed on as POTUS longer if he could have, senility or not... And I'm pretty sure his Altzimer's was pretty full blown when he was in office... Just an opinion, but the guy seems senile from the beginning

  15. "In response to Derrick from Philly, Reagan didn't leave office because he was becoming senile; he left because his eight years were up"

Thanks, GRAPHICJACK. I always thought Reagan left the presidency because he'd signed with Paramount to do a big production with Norma Desmond.

HOLLYWOOD CA, I don't think female circumcision is practised by a substantial number of people in southern Africa (Zimbawe, South Africa, Namibia, Angola, etc). That false and wacky brand of Islam never caught on down there.

"When it comes to him and his kind, extinction isn't a bad idea"

Absolutely, Michael. The world would/will be a better place without the Mugabes, the Maggie Gallaghers, the Tony Perkins, the Virginia Foxx's...absolutley.

  16. And the link of sexism and homophobia is complete.

Women only exist to have babies and gay men refuse to make them pregnant.

  20. Oh shut up you ignorant OLD man. Thankfully, you are of an age where your OLD ideals will die off as soon as you do. And the world would be better for it!

  21. President Robert Mugabe IS IGNORANT. WITH ALL OF THE "CLOSETED-" NEGRO-MALE HOMOSEXUALS WHO IMPREGNATE FEMALES, President Mugabe MUST NOT GO OUTSIDE TO SEE THE WORLD ON A REGULAR BASIS.
