Mitt Romney Announces His Plans for 'Day One' in First General Campaign Ad: VIDEO

Romney

Approve the Keystone pipeline, introduce tax cuts and reforms, issues order to begin replacing Obamacare.

Whoopee!

Check it out, AFTER THE JUMP...

CNN reports:

CNN reported Thursday, the campaign purchased at least $1.2 million of ad time in Ohio, North Carolina, Iowa and Virginia for broadcast time beginning Friday and running through Tuesday, according to a Republican ad buying source. The campaign also released a Spanish-language version of the ad.

On Thursday in Jacksonville, Florida, Romney told reporters the campaign would be entering the high stakes ad wars soon.

"I certainly hope that you'll get a chance to see our first ad that will come up in a couple of days. It will be a positive ad about the things that I will do if I am president," Romney said.

  1. Let's parse this:

"tax cuts across the board" - the vast majority of those cuts going to the upper level of the economic scale...ie: Mitt Romney and other members of the 1%.

"easing regulations" - gutting Dodd/Frank, setting the economy up for another 2008/2009. You MUST regulate the banks, period.

Couple all of that with Romney wanting massive increases in defense spending...you have a disaster waiting to happen.

  2. Social Security and Medicare have thus far survived repeated attacks from the Republican party. From those entitlements the Republicans need the money to sustain their tax tribute to the rich. So the attacks will continue.

Meanwhile, the beneficiaries of Social Security and Medicare continue to vote Republican.

  6. There's something else about Romney that needs to be addressed, but it involves his religion so the mainstream media will never touch it.

Mitt Romney isn't just "a Mormon," he's from one of the most connected LDS families, a Mormon "prince" who has been groomed from day one to attain political power and bring the church into the mainstream.

A January article from Salon addresses the Mormon church's interest in political power (the founder, Joseph Smith, ran for President in 1844 so it's nothing new) and the grooming of Mitt Romney to fulfill that dream.

  8. I doubt he'll get much done without a Senate. One of the first things that will happen will be across the board spending cuts, including defense spending. This will happen automatically unless they get a budget passed.

  9. In ancient Egypt when a disliked pharaoh died. His replacement would order that his cartouche be removed from all the temples. This was to erase the memory of the last king. Funny, human behavior doesnt change.

The rethugs want to erase obama from all the monuments.

  11. I don't think Romney has a clue as to how little power the office of US President has, he can't strike down ObamaCare on day one as he has stated before. Giving further tax cuts to the rich does not create jobs, unless you want to be a maid, gardener, or driver, if real jobs are created. Where are all the jobs from Bush's tax cuts? In China?

  12. I was going to type up a long message, but overall Mitt's reign over America will be Austerity for the poor, and Boom times for the rich. He speaks in double talk in which he wishes to continue a agenda that at it's hearts doesn't address the American peoples longing. He has no interest in lowering the deficit or debt ("deficits don't matter" will return), and has no interest in helping the middle class from Healthcare to Housing. Taxes lowered will benefit top earners like him, and cuts to the economy will hurt all. Voting for Mitt unless your'e a millionaire who isn't happy with record profits makes no sense. The American people demand jobs, and mitt goes around encouraging more people to be fired. Do not be fooled Mitt is no longer a "Moderate."

  13. Overall Mitt's reign over America will be Austerity for the poor, and Boom times for the rich. He speaks in double talk in which he wishes to continue a agenda that deep down doesn't address the American people's wishes. He has no interest in lowering the deficit or debt ("deficits don't matter" will return), and has no interest in helping the middle class from Healthcare to Housing. Taxes lowered will benefit top earners like him, and his way of cutting the government will hurt the economy for all. Voting for Mitt unless your'e a millionaire who isn't happy with record profits makes no sense. The American people demand jobs, and mitt goes around encouraging more people to be fired. Do not be fooled Mitt is no longer a "Moderate," he's been pulled into an extreme Republican party that wishes not to govern, but to let the rich benefit.
