Donald Trump to Have Republican National Convention Role

Leading birther Donald Trump will have a "surprise" role at the Republican National Convention, Politico reports:

TrumpTrump has generated some buzz with recent posts on Twitter saying he was planning a “big surprise” at the convention next week. But for the first time sources are confirming Republicans will indeed enlist Trump to be part of their opening day act.

Trump’s appearance will come on a day with a theme titled, “We Can Do Better,” which appears likely to amount to a coordinated attack on Obama’s time in office.

“We are going after Obama,” said Kyle Downey, a convention spokesman. “If he doesn’t want to talk about his failed record, we will. The American people expect and deserve better.”

Trump has also been an outspoken voice for denying gays equal rights.

  3. Seriously... republican, democrat or teabagger, WHO on earth actually likes this guy and wants to listen to anything he says? And why?

I just don't get why he's popular with ANYONE. IMO, he's one of the most repulsive, odious people to emerge in the political media since Richard Nixon.

  4. You know your star has dimmed (read: gone down the pan) when Trump is allowed to have sillytime on up to the podium, and the Hafsies Governor is told to keep her trap shut.

  5. @Deevee - exactly what I was thinking. Perhaps Trump will be in charge of valet parking?

  7. Can't you see why the Republicans did this? They're aiming for the "decadent plutocrat" vote!

  8. Or maybe the "surprise" on "we can do better day" is an announcement of a not-Romney attempting to overtake the nomination from the floor. This would be totally something that trump would get behind.

  12. "We Can Do Better"?

Funny...that's what Ivana and Marla told him after they walked out on him and his ugly comb-over.

  13. He's gonna say "You're fired" to an Obama impersonator.

That's their big joke and his "big surprise."
