Pat Robertson Tells Man to Move to Saudi Arabia So He Can Beat His Disrespectful Wife: VIDEO

On The 700 Club, Pat Robertson responds to a letter from a man who says that his wife is disrespectful and insults him.

Right Wing Watch captured the video, the last portion of which was edited out on the CBN website.

“Well, you could become a Muslim and you could beat her,” Robertson responded. “This man’s got to stand up to her and he can’t let her get away with this stuff,” Robertson continued, “I don’t think we condone wife-beating these days but something has got to be done.”

He later said the woman is a “rebellious child” and pondered if she has psychological problems. Robertson told the viewer that since he “can’t divorce her according to the Scripture, so I say: move to Saudi Arabia.”

  1. Lovely. Now let us keep this in mind every time this psycho has something to say about gays. Consider the source, everyone.

  2. It's unkind to Robertson and irresponsible with respect to his gullible viewers to let someone with dementia to stay on the air dispensing advice.

  3. With his leaden delivery I suppose all the "humor" was drained from the joke, but it seems clearly a joke with a lot of pop psychology thrown in. Not the most helpful advice.

  4. He's always been outlandish, but even by his standards, recently his comments have gone from being mainstream wacko to completely over the top lunacy. This comment is an example of something that would make even the most extremely conservative people cringe. I wonder if it's a sign of some physical malady or aging.

The Christian Broadcasting Network lists Robertson as his founder, but he's no longer its chief executive. What power does he retain? Can he be replaced on the network that he created?

The sales agreement that he negotiated with FOX when FOX purchased The Family Channel stipulated that "The 700 Club" would continue to be shown on the Family Channel in perpetuity. (This stipulation continues to be honored by Disney, the current owner of the channel. "The 700 Club" now airs on ABC Family thrice daily.)

To me, that seems like his vulnerability. If pressed Disney won't want to connected to a raving lunatic that is pro-wife beating. Advocates should press Disney to dump the show OR require that he be removed from its broadcasts. If he lost these broadcasts, his platform for his craziness would shrink dramatically.

  5. I've written to ABC Family Channel several times to drop him. They haven't yet. Maybe somebody should start a petition.

  6. His son, Gordon, is as crazy as he is and is all set and groomed to take over when Pat kicks off, so we'll have this cray-cray for a long, long time.

  7. What a sad, sad thing for a man who claims to be "A man of God" to say or even think for that matter. I find this offensive that the man said it. I think sponsors of the Mr. Robertsons show should be contacted and told that if they continue to advertise on this show, their products will be boycotted.

Don Imus was fired for what he called the young women basketball players, and his job was to be a "Shock Jock". Mr. Robertson is a "Good Christian" man who is suggesting physical violence is an acceptable means of resolving a marital problem.

Mr. Robertson, God loves you this I know. Unfortunately, the kind and loving God I was raised with doesn't like you very much.

  8. If this doesn't prove he needs to be taken off the air and sedated, nothing will. He's obviously off his rocker and a babbling idiot. Certainly not a Christian in any sense of the word.

I wonder how many Muslims would cringe at the thought of beating a woman? Probably quite a lot.

  9. Clearly Mr. Robertson went overboard. Nothing more than a light spanking with a copy of Fifty Shades of Grey is called for. Moving to Saudi Arabia would be over-reacting.

  14. Additional indicator: why is this man always sitting on a chair leaning forward as if he's on a toilet? Because he's so full of ... you know.

  15. nothing new here he is delerious and delusional

  16. Correct me if I am wrong, but did not republicon candidate for President, Willard (Mitt) Romney recently appear at a rally in Virginia Beach with Pat Robertson as a prominent guest at said rally?

Oh, sweet Jesus! Can we go to the videotape over and over on this one until the November election?

For those who had doubted: Yes! The republicon party is waging a war on women!

And, if Romney/Ryan wins or if the republicon majority increases in The House or they take majority in The Senate, you can be guaranteed it will get much worse for women in America.

  17. Alright already, the doddering old fool is suffering from onset stupidity and Alzheimer's. Everyone on this site knows that so why must we continually be reminded of this . Dog poop we know is awful, must we also have articles reminding us of that too?

  18. STEVYD: you and the rest of the story police need to find another site if it bothers you so much. Pat (Marion) needs to be exposed and that can't be done if we don't shine the light on him. People can make change by complaining, writing letters and demanding something be done. How will that happen if we don't know about it?

If these stories bother you so much I suggest visiting sites that won't be to challenging for your brain: People, US Weekly, Highlights Magazine.

  19. Pat has lost his mind or he has become a Muslim.

  20. It's not dementia-- Pat Robertson's always been one of the most evil people on the planet.

For instance, let's recall for a moment that this was the guy who was secretly using airplanes paid for by people who thought they were donating to genocide relief to instead haul mining equipment to near-slave laborers he employed in his Liberian "blood diamond" mines.

There are pus-filled sores on the bellies of the lowliest scum living at the deepest level of the ocean that are more honorable than Pat Robertson.

  23. "Something has got to be done" to allow *christian* husbands to follow the biblical practice of beating their wives.

  24. I'm surprised Rick isn't here supporting Robertson's position.

  25. "She doesn't want to submit to any authority."

THAT'S his assessment of the situation? I'm actually glad he's such a moron. Makes it easier to discount whatever he says completely.
