Matt Barber Says Marriage Equality A 'Weapon' Meant To Destroy Free Speech: VIDEO

According to Matt Barber from the anti-gay Liberty Counsel, marriage equality advocates and their allies aren't really interested in giving same-sex couples the same rights as their straight counterparts. We just want to use gay marriage to destroy free speech, free religion and society at large because we want to tear down the archetypal white picket fence.

All the legislative and judicial battles, all the tears, all the money and time poured into achieving equality - that's all in the name of the biggest renovation in history.

  1. I'm so tired and burned-out from all this insanity on the radical right. We deserve better than to waste our time with these loony characters.

  2. It's kinda ironic -- all this fuss about marriage -- when marriage itself will disappear in a few generations.

Greater wealth and wider spread education will lead to individuals who will have their own lives, their loves and their off-spring without any need for some tired old legal boundary. It doesn't work anyway, just look at divorce rates, serial monogamists and now the four star generals. White picket fences? More like Don't fence me in.

  5. Freedom of religious expression: your God given right to be a bigot and blame God for your narrow minded stupidity.

  6. What worries me is that they are sounding more and more like the pre-WWII fascist revolutionaries did in Germany, Spain and Italy.

An animal is at it's most dangerous when it's cornered. And these lunatics are feeling very cornered right now. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we're winning (finally) but I worry that these freaks may just turn to violence and attempt revolution on a broad scale when they can no longer win within the political process. All, of course, in the name of saving The United States from the "evil transgression" of equality and liberty for all not just some.

  8. All these evil people making a nice living out of stirring up hate bore me.

Very soon they will be out of a job so I hope they saved their money while they were getting paid a good wage by the right wingers.

  9. Since the Religious Right believe they are God's messengers on earth (so sorry, Pope) anything they say is free speech. Any attempt to contradict them is obviously an attempt to block their first amendment rights (for example, to shout "fire" in a crowded theater without a fire).

  10. Every time the anti-gay Christian right and their hate groups accuse the LGBT people of doing something bad or harmful you need to know that the anti-gay Christian right and their hate groups are doing the same thing they accuse gay people of. Simple put the anti-gay Christians are doing the same thing they accuse gays of doing.
