Towleroad Talking Points: Where in the World is Jan Brewer?

PHOTO OF THE DAY: "ParaNorman"'s filmmaker talks about "gay jock" Mitch.

A look back at today's top stories

Our Ari Waldman sat down with Waywire to talk about the recent election, Republicans and the gay vote

Bill O'Reilly was on the warpath last night equating gay marriage and the alleged "War on Christmas". Jon Stewart, like many of us, has enough of this load of malarkey from Fox News

If you have been fighting off kisses from NOM's Brian Brown, a Facebook group wants to hear your story! Also a federal judge in California has placed a block on the law that would ban "ex-gay" reparative therapy for minors.

Ok. This is truly bizarre. Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has shirked her responsibilities and seemingly skipped town. Her office will not comment on where she is.

Last night, Rachel Maddow took a moment to comment on the mess that is the Republican party, especially in light of Rick Santorum's ridiculous new job. Also she says "buttfumble" a lot, which is super fun.

Anderson Cooper had a rough time in Portugal, he burned the hell out of his eyeballs. Adam Levine really doesn't like Honey Boo Boo. Ian McKellen stopped by The Colbert Report last night to promote The Hobbit and talked about Gandalf's gay love life. Also Zachary Quinto and Conan exchanged eyebrow looks

Check out Macklemore and Ryan Lewis performing "Same Love" on NPR

If you ever wanted to see Neil Patrick Harris' "trouser weasel", now is your chance!

Frank Bruni on The Clintons, DOMA, and LGBT Equality: VIDEO

NYT columnist Frank Bruni talks about his op-ed last weekend in which he called on Bill Clinton to make greater amends for DOMA, calling it "strange" and "sad" that the Clintons are not "at the epicenter" of progressive pride over recent strides toward equality for gay and lesbian Americans.

The Simpsons' Mr. Burns Explains the Fiscal Cliff: VIDEO

Mr. Burns is one of those despondent Republicans upset over the recent election loss. However, he's still got some fear tactics up his sleeve - the upcoming "fiscal cliff". In this brief clip, he tries to explain what might happen if you don't let the richest people keep their tax cuts.

In related news, if you're interested in taking action against Republican resistance on the Fiscal Cliff, here's a new website called The Action which is working to end the Bush tax cuts for the richest two percent. You can sign the petition in support of Pelosi's Discharge Petition or learn how to call key members of Congress, and demand an end the Bush tax cuts. Here's also a round-up of related events.

First PPP Post-Election Poll Reveals Republican Bitterness, 5 Point Increase in Democratic Identification

PPP's first post-election poll is out:

Debate49% of GOP voters nationally say they think that ACORN stole the election for President Obama. We found that 52% of Republicans thought that ACORN stole the 2008 election for Obama, so this is a modest decline, but perhaps smaller than might have been expected given that ACORN doesn't exist anymore.

Some GOP voters are so unhappy with the outcome that they no longer care to be a part of the United States. 25% of Republicans say they would like their state to secede from the union compared to 56% who want to stay and 19% who aren't sure.

One reason that such a high percentage of Republicans are holding what could be seen as extreme views is that their numbers are declining. Our final poll before the election, which hit the final outcome almost on the head, found 39% of voters identifying themselves as Democrats and 37% as Republicans. Since the election we've seen a 5 point increase in Democratic identification to 44%, and a 5 point decrease in Republican identification to 32%.
