Sometimes, I wonder if Dan Savage pays kickbacks to certain Gay bloggers? That would explain why they report on his every word and move. Dude should start selling Dan Savage Tracker franchises! I swear, it’s going to get to the point where he farts and some sycophant will see fit to write it up as a news event.

Beautifully said by Dan, so happy for him and Terry. Also goes to show why marriage equality means so much. It’s about being fully equal.

Only two years ago marriage equality support was less than opposition against and opposition against was in the low 50s range. Now essentially every poll has marriage equality opposition in the low-mid 40s and dropping. Of course the country is still a mess in many ways but we’ve come A LONG WAY in a very short amount of time.

As always – intelligent, eloquent, informative and entertaining. An excellent advocate for our community… That said, If someone could get him to dress half-way decently he could go even further!

Glad to see Dan Savage saying and doing constructive things for the cause. He has tremendous potential, but often ruins it with obnoxious behavior, placing feeling cool above doing good. He’s a lot like our Little Kiwi in that regard.

Yes, by all means instead of giving attention to Dan Savage, let’s promote that OTHER openly gay nationally syndicated columnist who is the editor of a news weekly, has his own TV show, and who created a project to address (though certainly not solve) gay teen suicide that has been joined by corporations, sports teams, celebrities and government officials!

    Oh, wait…..

FWIW, I agree that Dan Savage sometimes lets his mouth get ahead of his brain and his good sense. But he’s also very knowledgeable about gay history and issues, often speaks eloquently about them, and gives no quarter to homophobes when challenged. They actively hate him and to me that means he’s doing something right!

You think “It Gets Better” isn’t effective enough? Having gay adults share their experience that sticking around is worth it is a good idea. No one thing is going to SOLVE the problem of gay teen suicide, but it’s a step in the right direction. The problem isn’t that IGB is terrible, it’s that more needs to be done. If you have an idea to more effectively address the problem, then make it a reality. Seriously. But it’s rather silly to blame Dan Savage because he didn’t FIX the problem. At least he did something.

    @ Stuffed Animal,

And why haven’t you removed that stupid Jesus-worship picture of Jesus being scourged from the left side of your webpage? No need to get in a huff just because Dan Savage won’t kiss Christian ass. Dan has pointed out some of the hateful idiocy in the Bible because it needed doing. Now make yourself useful and remove that stupid torture picture of Jesus from your webpage. Thank you, in advance.

What the hell? Getting a marriage license shouldn’t be like trying all the samples at Costco. He’s already married, why get married again?

Last year I read about a gay couple getting married in every jurisdiction where gay marriage is legal. Marriage isn’t a game. It’s a once in a lifetime commitment.

Oh for god’s sake! It’s really not that f*cking hard to figure out. GAY MARRIAGES PERFORMED IN CANADA ARE NOT RECOGNIZED IN MOST PLACES IN THE US, INCLUDING WASHINGTON STATE!!!! As of last year, last month, last week, WA state didn’t give a flying f*ck about gay couples married in Canada- they didn’t recognize it!

It’s a very good idea for a gay couple to get married where they actually LIVE, if possible, for LEGAL REASONS. Because only a few state allow gay marriages and DOMA is still in place, and we’re “leaving it up to the states,” even if you just move from one gay marriage state to another you should at least look into whether it would benefit you to do it AGAIN there, at least the paperwork, just in case.

Most of you just want something to b*tch about Dan Savage over, but give it a rest.

Dan Savage is a hero and we owe him our gratitude for making all of our lives better. Of course people like Stuffed Animal and Mary will try to hate on him since he makes them feel bad about their own lack of character and inability to make the world a better place.
