'World Is Gone Mad,' Says Fantasia Barrino About Gay Nups, Weed

Fantasia

Fantasia Barrino, the singer made famous by winning the third season of American Idol, took to Instagram to tell the world that she is completely confused as to why marriage equality and weed are legal in some places yet she's still being "judged".

Judged by whom? An invisible jury? Ghosts of American Idol contestants past? Some omniscient being that goes like only one name? Cher?! Who knows?! But Fantasia is certain she's being judged and she doesn't like it at all. She thinks that judgmental shade should be thrown at the people legally getting married and legally smoking dope.

Yes, life is full of mysteries and Instagram is full of deep thoughts; just not on Fantasia Barrino's feed.

  10. Fantasia had SO much potential when she won Idol but just hasn't lived up the promise.

She could and should have been the new Tina Turner but the great songs just weren't there...

  11. Poor Fantasia, I guess she is not over her boyfriend and Baby Daddy cheating on her. (I may not get out of the house much, but thanks to the interwebs, I am connected with the world. LOLs)

  12. So she's having a bad day/week/year/whatever, so she dumps on an entire community that has NOTHING whatsoever to do with making her life miserable?

I used to hear statements like this in Mississippi in the early 70's. It went something like this, "The world is going to hell, there's war in Vietnam, my kids can't pray in school, yet n*****s can vote and go to the same school as my kids! The world has gone mad!"

Of course this kind of ignorance isn't exclusive to Mississippi or the American South. Vulnerable minorities around the world and throughout history have been scapegoated for other people's problems that they had nothing to do with.

  13. Wasn't she more famous for being functionally illiterate at the age of....how old is she now?

  14. I wonder what Aunt Bunny would have to say about this.

  15. Bollux: I was thinking the same thing. And, while it's hard to get through that mess of a post, her point is clear enough. God is upset with Fantasia because she's allowing all this to happen. But, I did wonder, you think she'd turn down singing for a gay marriage reception for the right price? Though, I don't know what self-respecting to-be-married couple would hire her.

  16. Fantasia is a mess. As if marriage equality and smoking somehow were equal to her knowingly sleeping with a married man and having his child, then dragging it into the public eye for her crap reality show(as well a 'attempting' suicide for ratings). I have to feel sorry for her children.

  18. She is intelligent enough to type a tweet, or is her spell-check on hyper drive?

  19. Screw you, you effing hypocrite.

A lot of gay people called in to vote for you. You ungrateful little c***! You think you're going to sustain a singing career without gay fans? You're an idiot. No wonder your career never went anywhere. Ranting about gay marriage after having a baby out of wedlock? Go away. I'm done with you.

  20. She forgets that her Bible tells her not to have a sexual relationship with a married guy. If you live in a glass house.......

  21. Bible says she's a harlot for all her grandstanding. It's fun to use old fairy tales as a way to discriminate against other people!

  22. Just another ignorant, mad, black woman!

  23. @JAWOLE You wish you could be so snarky. That some 8th-rate talent from at 50th-rate TV show could garner even this amount of "fame" shows just how far down the toilet bowl we've sunk culturally.

  24. I think you're all misreading the are post. It basically comes down to "judge not lest ye be judged." Fantasia is saying that things that ppl have criticized are now accepted but she is judged w/ no sympathy for her failings.

    Get it?

The madness is the world's refusal to forgive her while it moves on and accepts other things that were once outlawed.
