Al Jazeera English has the most detailed international news coverage. I've never seen it as cowtowing to any political viewpoint. By contrast, Current tv never had a brand that meant anything to me.

The amazing thing is how Al was able to up the sale price of his essentially worthless asset. His cache as VEEP and caped crusader (probably not the best ad hominem in this context, but I'll go with it) was probably what sealed the deal. That, or he's an amazing salesman.
