Minnesota House Panel Advances Marriage Equality Bill to Floor in 10-7 Party Line Vote

MNMinnesota's House Civil Law Commmittee approved the marriage equality bill in a 10-7 vote along party lines. The bill now advances to the full House for consideration.

Earlier today, the Senate Judiciary Committee advanced the bill in a 5-3 vote. Marriage equality is now under consideration in Minnesota's full legislature.

No word yet on when debate and vote might take place, but, as always, tune in here for updates.

    Remember on election day 2014 that all the Republicans on that Minnesota House Committee voted against marriage equality and all the Democrats voted yes. Another small example as to where our two major political parties stand on this fundamental equal rights issue.

    Hallelujah! Thank you to the Lutheran Church, United Church of Christ, Minnesota Council of Churches, and all of the Christian denominations, pastors, and laity pushing for marriage in Minnesota.
