  3. onion new empire appears to be a spoof of hbo's the newsroom. it's an amazon original pilot, and yes, it's laugh out loud funny, even better than ifc's onn.

    there is a jackson shirtless scene, but alas, only from the shoulders up...

In case you haven't been reading about it, Amazon posted 14 different pilots for shows that their Amazon paid video streaming service is requesting that their members vote on which ones they want produced into series. Shows range from serious to comedy to kids programming. Kind of genius, actually, and the first of its kind in regards to programming selection. Although not a member, I'm very curious as to how this pans out for Amazon... I'm sure the sinking ships of broadcast are watching closely...

    amazon instant video says they're discussing making the pilot available for download. i'd love to watch it on my widescreen.
