Philadelphia Mayor Signs Groundbreaking LGBT Rights Legislation: VIDEO


Last month I reported on the passage of an LGBT health benefits bill by Philadelphia's City Council that would give tax credits and incentives to businesses offering health plans that include gay partners and children. It also offers tax credits to businesses offering specific healthcare benefits to trans employees and bans discrimination against non-union trans city employees.

  3. Unfortunately if only applies to those who work and live in the County-and-City of Philadelphia. Not sure it will help-much those who live or work in the suburban counties of Philadelphia were there are NO G/L protections. Or those who work for businesses not headquartered or based in Philadelphia.

    But a good start...

  4. Philadelphia has always been a leader on LGBT issues. It was also the first city in the country to advertise gay tourism.

  6. This is great. I'm no fan of Michael Nutter. I refused to vote the top of the ticket in last mayoral election. But this is a plus for him.
