Pro-Equality Illinois GOP Lawmaker Confronts Booing Protesters: VIDEO

Rep. Ron Sandack of Downers Grove is one of two GOP Illinois Representatives (the other is Ed Sullivan Jr. of Mundelein) who have thus far publicly committed to supporting the marriage equality bill pending there. It's expected to see a vote before month's end.

Hundreds of protesters gathered outside his office over the weekend and Sandack addressed them, repeating his commitment to vote for equaltiy.

  2. Notice how the lunatics even refused to hear why he's voting for it. I thought teabaggers were all about letting the debate happen in the legislatures and NOT the court, yet they seem more interested in foiling gay marriage at any cost.

  3. Send him your thanks and support. I also sent him a link to the SPLC's description of anti-gay hate groups on its list, including the Illinois Family Institute. I urged him to share the link with his fellow legislators.

  4. Actually Jose Soto, they think they themselves should have the right to vote on our rights. Short of that, they'll accept someone who votes their way only in a bill.

  8. Thank you Rep. Sandack for your support of marriage equality and the courage of your convictions! (He used to be a state senator until redistricting forced him to run for a house seat in the last election.) We need more Republicans like him.
