  1. Stephen Fry was absolutely wonderful on Craig Ferguson last night. He had the audience mesmerized - you could hear a pin drop at times. Fry talked about being openly gay, of being an atheist, the ridiculousness of the religious right and so much more. Ferguson truly adores Fry and sat back letting Fry take over the show. It was stunning. At the end of the show Ferguson's producers (and probably CBS themselves) made Ferguson offer a statement of apology had Fry offended anyone with his frank and blunt talk.

Fry rarely appears on American television talk shows - like Leno et al because he calls a spade a spade and doesn't waste words about the folly of religion and false idols, the Catholic and Mormon churches and the religious right. As a gay man I couldn't have been prouder of another representative of the gay community. Fry was marvelous.

  3. @Mike Ryan
    You said it beautifully.
Stephen Fry is brilliant. One of the most amazing men alive today.
    "Where do I begin?'

And Craig Ferguson is no slouch, either.

  4. @Mike Ryan...agree with "JONES", you said it beautifully!

Stephen Fry's interview starts about the 12:00 mark if you don't want to watch Craig's opening and monologue.

Note: There is a repeated segment starting at approximately the 30:00 minute mark, when they return from go to 36:45 to skip the repeated section.

  5. Two things: I found the "Parental Warning Disclaimer" at the beginning totally humiliating and unnecessary. These are two middle-aged men who have survived the whirlwind of drugs and alcohol and publicity and who both have interesting stories to tell.

Take the time to watch his very personal study of Wagner (including his trip to Bayreuth). I don't know if this YT link is 100% complete - I watched it awhile ago.
