  6. @Sam
'vlogger' is a video blogger. Doesn't write, uses video.

    Congratulations Matt & Russ!

  9. well--I dunno. Maybe I"m just old-fashioned (or just "old") but the idea of a marriage proposal while everybody's getting plastered - including the happy couple - doesn't quite seem so sweet or romantic to me. Nevertheless, I hope they love each other and are live many happy years together.

  10. Skip all the irritating party animaling by advancing to about the 3:58 point. ...
Their vlog posts not only proves it IS a new if not yet perfect day since repeal but also makes most of those great pics of other gay military couples simply kissing look old-fashioned. Both are strong, but Russ's candor, courage, sense of humor, and just plain JOY in having publicly come out—and in encouraging others, military and civilian, to do the same—has stood out [in part because Matt only recently joined in]. Both make the occasional bad choices in what they say and co, but blame it on their youth [25 & 22]. Overall Russ is remarkably insightful for his age, particularly for someone from the Indiana sticks which I know too well. We wish them all the best, and look forward to following their lives. The best is yet to come.

  11. I'm happy for them, but man what a terrible proposal.. like he just blurted it out at a loud house party full of drunk people lol

  14. I will rain on this parade – gladly

To state the obvious – this blog would not give a fig for these two if they weren’t white, blond, good looking, 20ish - most commenters would likewise not care less about these two if they were less easy on the eye

Second – – they seem more than a bit self involved – this constant filming of oneself – healthy ego is fine but this seems like narcissism - not attractive

Third to state the more obvious – we’re talking US military here – enough said – can’t you find some lovely slacker, peace activist, nerd to highlight – these two are part of the us military – a terrible tool of global oppression not to mention colossal waste of tax dollars –

I vote for no more posts on rural, poor white boys with bad haircuts

  15. Everyone's proposal is romantic to them. I proposed to my husband on the freeway. He almost wrecked the car, but we consider that section of 35 to be damn romantic. It doesn't matter if he proposed at a party or an elegant restaurant, Russ will always think it's romantic.

  16. all the pretty blonde beasts in bavaria couldn't make the wehrmacht charming to the world outside the reich

  19. I love how all of the craziness around them just fades away and they are completely absorbed in each others eyes. Congratulations, gentlemen!

  20. I wish them all the best of luck, if they actually do get married.

  21. @j I will gladly pee on your bitter-queen-parade, but then again you might be into that.

  22. They're young and surrounded by friends --which is fairly the definition of marriage and a proposal. It's a ritual of community. Perhaps it's not the most elegant...but we've been watching them through their video blogs and it's not sudden or unexpected. I'm with @Mike in the tundra; it's going to be a memorable event for them and their friends for years to come and it was gorgeous.

  23. They are young. Russ's boyfriend was obviously nervous. He approached his proposal from a place of love and respect. It was honest, beautiful and heartfelt.

  24. @ j one's voting. Sorry bro. BTW, this blog features a ton of peace activists and nonwhites (as a non-white, I notice that). Do you even read this blog or do you only notice things you hate?

But yeah, congrats to these two.
