Westboro Baptist Church to Picket 'Fag-Enabling Perverted Pop Boy Band' One Direction

One Direction has received the WBC's seal of approval, announcing on its website that it will picket the band's July 19 concert in Kansas City, Missouri:

"WBC will picket this perverted pop boy band from the UK who claim to be the world's #1 band.  Indeed, they are a perfect representation of this filthy world and the sin-chasing, fag-enabling, God-hating, Christ-rejecting UK who has banned WBC from preaching within her borders. These freaks and their fans think it's funny for these five perverts to grab each other's asses on stage. They glamorize sin and make a mock of God's standards. Their one purpose is to encourage the youth of this generation to pursue every lust their evil hearts can imagine"

  1. Oh noes! The pointless picketing the inconsequential! I just hope the two of them being in close proximity to each other doesn't open up a black hole of meaninglessness that devours the universe.

    Boy bands. Blechhh!

  2. Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah

At least WBC is still good for comic relief....

  3. I would gladly and enthusiastically bang any or all of these young "perverts" and "freaks". LOL.

  4. Wow...actually not that fond of their music but I may have to run out and purchase a One Direction CD now...

  5. It's cool - Fred P is right now masturbating to the above picture!!

  6. ha ha ha. let them try and be crushed by million of fans. I don't think they will stand a chance against a thousand of screaming teenage girls.

  7. Yawn. Maybe they'll cancel each other out and both vanish from the face of the Earth.

  8. And now they've done it!! Angering lemonade selling teeny boppers is not a mess to deal with.

  10. Whatever they're going to do is ultimately pointless. If they think they are going to """"change"""" them in any way then they've got another thing coming. I'm sure that the millons of screaming girls will defend them if it gets out of hand. Not to mention the loads of security around them. "Freaks" or not, "perverts" or not, I would still bang any of them any day. And the picture up there is manipulated. It's not real. Although I wish it was...that's all. Goodbye.

  11. Seriously? They should be afraid for their own safety - armies of love struck pre-teen girls are not something you want to mess with!

  12. The WBC was supposed to picket the funeral of Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman. They never bothered to show. They just wanted to leach off of someone who actually accomplished something in order to keep their pathetic sagging asses in the news another day. They are doing the same thing here. Ten dollars they don't even show at the 1 Direction concert, because they have all the publicity they need already.

Attention seeking Media whores is all WBC are. The sooner we all ignore them the sooner they will wither completely and blow away in the next strong wind.

  13. It would make my life if a horde of 12 year old girls and gay boys sought out mob justice on these freaks.

  14. Oh, this is going to backfire on WBC so badly. Hell hath no fury like a 1D fangirl scorned. Those girls are going to tear the Phelps clan to shreds for picketing Harry & the boys, and the WBC can't fight back without looking like they're beating up on little girls.

I'm going to need a nice lawn chair and a big bag of popcorn for this one.

  15. Jamal49 (top of the queue) has it right. WBC is not to be accepted at face value. Some of its members (and $ contributors) may believe exactly what they seem to believe. But, the leaders are almost certainly cashing-in either financially, emotionally, or probably in both ways.

WBC has chosen to declare non-violent war on American society. There are many payoffs for this. One payoff is laughs, like Jamal49 says.

  16. It's official: I'm now a one direction fan. Not big on their music but they have always embraced their gay boy fans as much as the screaming teeny-bops. Spend time in Europe it becomes an accepted fact that boys are more physical with their affections than stifled US kids. I think WBC believes kissing their own children is a form of incest.

  17. Great, now I have to buy all the One Direction downloads available on iTunes!! Thanks, WBC, you jerks!

  18. Proof they're good. Long live perversion.

  19. Due that One Direction are now all over 18, can I say that I would like to bang all of them? And I'm more into daddies men.

  20. @Caliban: Mozart started performing in public at an even younger age. Compared to him at the start of his career, these guys are ancient!

Seriously, though, there's no need for a "blechhh". Nobody is forcing anyone to listen to them or go to one of their concerts.

BTW, Évariste Galois made most of his contributions to mathematics while still in his teens, with his career cut short due to dying at the age of 20 in a duel.

  21. to quote Nanct Pelosi, "who cares?" I am sure the fans would drown out this crazy bunch of lunatics if asked.

  22. Liz C: No Liz, the pic is not manipulated, this straight kids love to touch and kiss each other.

I fear for the WBC members, nothing is more terrifying that the ire of a bunch of teenage girls. Insult their idols and you are done

  23. Bill: You are totally right, but some people on this site can't live without their daily dosis of bitching

  24. WBC's website announces protests all the time, many of which they never show up for - in part because they now get the publicity they crave just by posting the announcements and denunciations.

  25. One Dimension does not deserve this kind of attention!
