Robbie Rogers Strikes a Pose for OUT Magazine: PHOTO

Out footballer Robbie Rogers is OUT magazine's cover story for August.

The LA Galaxy soccer player says he's completely changed his perspective, once professing that he wanted to be a footballer and not a spokesperson. OUT asks if he feels the same way now:

No, the exact opposite. I want to help people, especially kids who felt the same way I did; it makes me sick to remember the way I felt and to think that…they don’t have a choice of who they are and they feel the same way I used to feel. Now I have this platform that hopefully I can use to reach people in a positive way. This is a learning process for me, but I don’t want to give advice. I’ve just come to terms with myself, so who am I to be giving advice? I love to share my story with these kids and hang out with kids or people or grown men who are struggling, and I’m very happy that God’s given me the courage to try to help in that way.

Rogers also confirms his status as a single man. You may also want to check out the letter he recently wrote to his 14-year-old self.

The superficial in me: He is ridiculously good looking. Not my favorite photo of him, though.

The thoughtful part: I wonder what life would have been like had a Robbie Rogers been out when I was a kid? I think I would have come out a lot sooner.

HOT cover. I’m liking Robbie more and more. Unlike others I think he is a remarkable asset to our community and I hope he knows his visibility and advocacy is most appreciated.

Hey Guys, He is a huge positive role model “so Far” for the youth of today. I give him a lot of credit for coming out, it had to be difficult and he has done it with a lot of grace and professionalism. I wish him the best of luck, and keep up the great work. And yes he is adorable, a bonus for us.
