  1. seeing as how most european royalties made a killing (literally and figuratively) in increasing their fortunes via africa ....a little pay back would be nice

the biggest offender was leopold II king of the belgians and SOLE OWNER of the CONGO which he raped and made his fortune

the Brittan raped africa (british empire once holding 17 african countries and pillaging the lot of them) and india etc

  3. The Darren Young story is huge and all over media, sports channels, social media today, yet Towleroad relegates it to a mere blurb.

  4. Malcolm: I'm surprised that it didn't get a bigger treatment here, because it's all over the internet

And russian champion Isimbayeva showed the world that you can be a great champion and a first class bigot at the same time. Shame on her

  5. Why isn't Darren Young his own story? That's big news!

  6. Dogs and cats are not in the same Family as raccoons (Procyonidae), they are in the same Order (Carnivora).

Just so you will know, and your children will someday know . . .

  7. Being (like his father) a racist, Rand Paul is a fine one to opine on "objective evidence" of black voter suppression.

  8. The FBI is going after privacy and people who have nothing to do with child porn. It's despicable and horrific that TR reduces this issue to a trivial little blurb.

Wake up. You're next. Silence is DEATH.

    Wake up.

  9. It's ok if you aren't physically attracted to Darren Young, there Andy...but it's kind of a big story. #towlefail

  10. Yeah, I was expecting a big headline story here on major wrestler Darren Young. After all, it has been a topping trending topic all day and all over ESPN. Yet, Towleroad gives it faint coverage. You have to wonder if they are just that deaf to sports or have some sinister bias at work.

  11. It is kind of strange that Towleroad reduced the Darren Young story to a blurb. At first I thought, "Well, it's a pretty new story so someone's probably writing it now." But I thought that about 6 HOURS ago!

  13. Coming to the party late, but on an unrelated note, speaking as someone who lives way out in the sticks, it isn't unusual for people here to seek treatment from a vet. Most of the clinics around here are staffed only part time and the vets are more accessible and cheaper.

  14. Eric Marques of Dublin,Ireland should be found dead from a severe baseball bat beating. That would be more appropriate than 20 years in an isolation ward of a U.S. prison with all the other skinners and pervs.

  17. @ Ratbastard

being a bleeding heart liberal I'd say drop him off in the middle of the sahara dessert without clothes or water

the .0000000000000000000000000009% chance at survival would satisfy my bleeding heart while also serving justice. Maybe even a castration to make sure if he stumbled across any bedoiuns or Tuareg he wouldn't try to rape their kids before they could hack him to pieces

In other words we sort of agree, it is jut the manner of justice that is different

  18. "freaking the eff out"

Call me old-fashioned, but with this hip new lingo your blog writer is using, I'm starting to lose my ability to relate to Towleroad these days.

  19. it is suspicious that the Darren Young story is a tiny little substory instead of its own major story, especially since it is a major media story this afternoon. Hmmm, does Towleroad dislike black athletes?

  21. To change the subject—Miley Cyrus, yuk but Terry Richardson, double yuk. Grody, grody, grody, I never thought that trailer trash could get so far.

    Posted by: tinkerbelle | Aug 15, 2013 5:23:09 PM

  22. @ Derrick

about the royals, africa, etc ?

Yeah, though the British royals' ancestors didn't benefit as much as Belgium and France ...and though not saints they were at least better than Leopold II

recently reading the news saw that Leopold's grandson abdicated due to age to make way for his son and thought....FUCKERS! give your billions to Congo, Zaire, etc and keep a few million and disappear to some deserted island

The estimates on the genocide for ivory and rubber is from 2 to 12 million with many experts saying most likely Leopold II reigned over the murder of 10 million people and countless others who had their hands chopped off for not meeting rubber quotas etc

    Posted by: Moz's | Aug 15, 2013 5:25:59 PM

  23. Oh and PS

I highly recommend Mark Twain's SCATHING satirical pamphlet attacking leopld II's autrocities

    title = Leopold's Soliloquy

Twain wrote it from the point of view of Leopold bemoaning people complaining about the genocide, raping, etc since he was allowing some missionaries in to convert people etc

  24. The Frank Ocean article was trite, who gives a rats buttox ?

In the sidebar of the article, though, was this :

The USA has more of it's population in prison than any other nation. We think the US is soooo great, that we're soooo free, that we have Liberty and Justice, that there's soooo much to be proud of, because, hey, we're f*ing AMERICANS.

    It's all nationalistic horse crap.

Wake up. YOU'RE next. Silence IS death.

    Posted by: Justsayin | Aug 15, 2013 5:57:53 PM

  25. The Smithsonian did NOT say that cats and dogs are part of the raccoon family. Talk about summarising something into gibberish!
