  1. Branden James has a beautiful voice--very operatic--but I think "Hallelula" is one of those songs where the rougher or more weary the voice, the more devastating the impact.

  2. I think DBack's right. His performance style misses the point of the song entirely. K. D. Lang nailed it at the winter olympics like few others (Jeff Buckley's was my go-to version up until I heard her sing it).
    This is not the style for a song with lyrics like...
    She tied you to a kitchen chair.
    She broke your throne, and she cut your hair,
    And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah!
    This doesn't convey the emotion and desperation of the original song. Pretty voice, though.
