Author Christopher Bram Offers A Special 'It Gets Better' Message In Honor Of National Coming Out Day: VIDEO

In honor of National Coming Out Day today, author and activist Christopher Bram created a video for the It Gets Better project, chronicling his own experience with bullying in the Boy Scouts. He also talks about how he in turned bullied others and has felt regret for those he hurt.

Says Bram, "There's a famous saying from ancient times: 'Be kind to everyone you meet because each person is secretly fighting a great battle.' That's something we should all keep in mind, whether we're being bullied or find ourselves acting like a bully. It will get better so long as we treat ourselves with kindness and respect."

  1. Great message, from the heart. I always thought his novel "Hold Tight" would have made a great film.

  2. I've always loved his work, from "Surprising Myself" to "Hold Tight" to "Father of Frankenstein" (which was the basis for the movie "Gods and Monsters" with Ian McKellan and Brendan Fraser).

  3. Mr. Bram is a tremendous talent. "Surprising Myself" was a amazing read for me as I was pushing that closet door open many years ago. Thanks again Christopher.
