  1. How can this only be the second spider man?

  2. Damn! That looks good!

@Anon: They started over with the franchise with the last movie, starring Andrew Garfield, making this one a "2".

  3. Really, you can just start things over whenever you want to and ignore the others? That seems rather silly. LOLOLOLOLOLOL

  4. I think they are distinguishing this series of Spiderman movies by using the word “Amazing” in the titles. So now there will be the current Amazing Spiderman 2 and the older Spiderman 2 available soon on Netflix.

  5. when they get tired of Andrew Garfield, will they have to start over again with the "Super Duper" Spider man?

  6. There are several Spiderman comics series, I think. Alternate realities of a sort, where the basics are the same but the details are different.

And Tobey Maguire opted out of doing more and/or aged out of the role.

  7. Yeah, and in "Super Duper Spiderman" they'll tell the origin story yet again, only it'll be grittier, darker!

  8. Sally Field is in this movie?

  9. Sally Field plays a time traveling Mary Todd Lincoln.

  10. Nothing about this makes me any more excited after seeing the last Amazing Spiderman. It looks like more of the same. I like the choice for Harry Osborn, he seems much closer to the comic Harry than James Franco ever could be.

And yes, there are several Spiderman series, The Amazing Spiderman is different from Spiderman. It depended on who was writing the series at the time.

Andrew Garfield is so hot though, I wish there were more shirtless scenes. And get rid of Gwen

  11. I thought Rhino and Electro were lame choices for villains, but it seems like they've done a surprisingly good job of rendering them on screen and making them part of a unified story line. Using Dane DeHaan (who played the villain in Chronicle) was a great choice for Harry Osborne.

Hopefully the Death of Gwen Stacy is being saved for the third film.

  12. I actually love Sally Field in this role. She's a 'hipper' version of Aunt May and she's good in anything.

  13. I like the nods to two other Spidey villains, the Vulture and Doctor Octopus. You can see the tech belonging to both villains in cases in the Oscorp building. Setup for future films in the franchise, perhaps?

Totally agree! Sally Field is an amazing actress and brings a depth to every roll she plays. I still cherish her as Gidget, though. :)

  16. More CGI. Ho hum.

  17. Andrew Garfield is so cute/hot and I would have his babies. That said, Tobey McGuire is the definitive Spider-Man for me.

  18. Wow, this looks good.
