    The dad couldn’t show the GOOD “Superman” from 1978? The special effects may not be quite as seamless, but it’s a much better movie (and not as soullessly violent). I still get chills when the camera goes in through the icy Jor-El’s eye, and you see the figure of Christopher Reeve finally standing on the ledge; he puts out his arms and begins to fly towards us, as the music begins to build…thrilling.
