Bodies of Lesbian Couple Found Near Dumpster in Texas: VIDEO

A lesbian couple in Texas was killed over the weekend, their bodies left near a dumpster in Port Bolivar after they took a trip to Galveston for Mardi Gras, and little is known beyond that, KTRK reports:

Jackson_cosbyCrystal Jackson, 24, was a mother to a five-year-old girl. Her sister broke down in tears while speaking to us about Jackson. She said Jackson was a nice person and loved her girlfriend, 24-year-old Britney Cosby. The two had been together for two years.

Cosby's family members also are still visibly upset after finding out that the couple were found dead in Port Bolivar. Their bodies were found Friday morning next to a convenience store dumpster.

Jackson's father says he last heard from his daughter on Wednesday. He said she worked as a security guard, while Cosby was a barista at Starbucks. Both lived at Cosby's great grandmother's home.

"I never heard from them anymore, and that night I didn't hear from her," said Cosby's great grandmother, Annie Lee Cosby, said.

The women were killed "in different ways" according to police, possibly murdered elsewhere and moved.

Investigators are still looking forCosby's car, a silver 2006 Kia Sorrento with paper tags. Anyone with information about the murders or the stolen vehicle is asked to call the Galveston County Sheriff's Office tip line at 866-248-8477.

  1. My Facebook friends hate when I post things like this, but I refuse to pretend that the world is so much better just yet.

  2. The comments on the local news website are disgusting, and they come from both white and black "Christians."

  3. You do know who is to blame for this, if it is a hate crime, right? You do know who with much irresponsibility has in the past two years spread vicious homophobia, hatred and prejudice; who had perpetrated that gays were disgusting and were a crime against nature and had to be reformed because of some god or another; who had fed the weak-minded hateful discrimination as if it was god-mandated?

If those were hate crimes, these deaths lie squarely on the hypocritical and atrocious hate-mongering shoulders of .the Tea Party. You take responsibility for the words you spread, and you need to start claiming the disturbing results of spreading false, vicious and irreparable rumors.

  6. This is just awful, and it may not get as much media "play" because they're 1) African American, 2) lesbians and 3) not small children. We need to keep this in the national discussion so more people are aware, disturbing though it may be.

  8. I'm guilty of tending to click on articles with more "eye candy," but I'm sickened that this story isn't bigger. This is incredibly sad. I have no words...

The media usually avoids giving coverage to black murder victims because the killers themselves are overwhelmingly black. If it turns out that these women were killed by whites, the story will blow up fast and we'll never hear the end of it.

  10. Very sad. But we don't know if this was in fact a gay bias hate crime. Houston has a pretty high violent crime rate, so this could be simply a tragic random crime, or any number of other scenarios. I feel for their families, especially the great grand mother. Violent crimes leave a terrible scar on those affected.
