Outrage at demi lovato

During a performance of "Really Don't Care", two of Lovato’s male backing dancers shared a kiss. One of dancers was naked except for a portrait of Vladimir Putin attached to his underwear.

Russia has come under fire in the last year for enacting anti-gay laws.

The video for "Really Don't Care" features scenes from a gay pride event in California and opens with Lovato saying, "You don't have to hate because my Jesus loves all."

Shortly after New York Pride, Russian Twitter users started using the hashtags #DemiHurtsRussianLovatics #StayStrongPutin to voice their anger over the controversial use of Putin’s image. Russian social network Vkontakte was also used to vent user's outrage.

Demi Lovato Shows Her Pride, Releases 'Really Don't Care': Video

It's been a whirlwind Pride season for Demi Lovato. Early in June, the "Heart Attack" songstress grand marshaled L.A. Pride. This weekend, she will headline NYC Pride's event Dance at the Pier. Last night, on Logo's "Trailblazers" event the pop star offered some interesting perspective on where her love of gay culture comes from; Lovato says her grandfather came out as homosexual in the 1960s.

It seems only appropriate that Lovato's newest video, "Really Don't Care," proudly waves a rainbow flag. The video, released today, features footage of Lovato at the L.A. pride parade she grand marshaled.

There's no shortage of support for the LGBT community in the world of pop music, but Lovato gives us something unusual — a personal story about an LGBT subject that people often hesitate to discuss. Lovato is known for sparking useful dialogues with intimate stories from her personal life; here's hoping her openness could ease people into the (sometimes difficult) topic of coming out later in life.

Get into the pride spirit and check out the video AFTER THE JUMP, and watch her remarks from "Trailblazers" here.

Demi Lovato Reveals Her Grandfather Was Gay: VIDEO

The Grand Marshal of this year’s LA Pride Parade and the headliner of NYC’s Pride event, Dance on the Pier, happening this weekend on June 29, recently revealed that her grandfather was gay, according to MTV News. Lovato, who has never before publicly shared this story about her grandfather, opened up at Logo's Trailblazers event celebrating the one year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s historic ruling in United States v. Windsor:

“I’ve never spoken about this before, but my grandfather himself was a trailblazer. He was brave enough to come out in the 1960s, and I feel a lot of my spirit has come from him,” she said. “He passed away a few years later and I only wish he could have been able to see all the progress that has been made.”
