Melissa Rivers: Kathy Griffin's Fashion Police Exit ‘Sh*t All Over’ Joan Rivers’ Legacy - VIDEO

Screen Shot 2015-05-14 at 1.44.28 PM

Melissa Rivers had some choice words for Kathy Griffin during an interview with Hoda Kotb saying the comedian "kind of sh*t all over (Joan Rivers') legacy," with the way she departed from Fashion Police reports pinkisthenewblog.com.

Fashion Police encountered controversy after host Giuliana Rancic made what many called a racist comment concerning singer Zendaya's dreadlocks. Host Kelly Osbourne quit the show over the incident and Kathy Griffin departed shortly afterwards. Rivers' expressed disappointment with the hosts of the show and blames them for "smashing" the last "piece of her mother" she had left:

Fashion"It was a very, very difficult time, I had a lot of conversations with everybody involved … It really shows that we were a family. We went back too fast, and when the matriarch died the sisters started fighting. It was extremely frustrating as I had to keep my eye on the franchise and the legacy of it and not get involved in the personal.

"I felt like Fashion Police was this little jewel, and it was the last piece I had of my mother and I working together. I felt like all these people were so out of control including the one who made the allegations of racism. They took the last thing I had and smashed it. I felt like I was Humpty Dumpty and I was on my knees gluing it back together. It never would have happened if (Joan) was alive."

Tops and Bottoms: Power Ranking 'RuPaul's Drag Race' 07x05 — RECAP

I know I'm not alone when I say that Snatch Game is my favorite Drag Race challenge. Historically, it's been the main challenge in episodes 4, 5 or 6. Given tonight's awards show-themed challenge (and next week's apparent acting challenge), I'm wondering where my damn Snatch Game is. In a season that's been pretty divisive among fans, a good Snatch Game is the kind of thing that could save this season. Bring it on, Ru!

Instead, the remaining queens tonight played a little red carpet dress-up and presented one another with some shady statuettes.

Ladies and gentlemen of the Academy, I submit for your consideration, this week's rankings, AFTER THE JUMP ...

Griffin took to Twitter last night to explain her departure:

Osbourne, who left the show last month following some controversial comments made by co-host Giuliana Rancic, praised Griffin's decision with a tongue touching tweet:

Kathy Griffin and David Letterman

For the past several years Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper have hosted the New Year's Eve broadcast from Times Square, but last week she dished to David Letterman about her menage a trois dinner before the broadcast that also included Ryan Seacrest.

In her usual biting style Griffin discusses her confirmation that Seacrest is indeed a robot, the best way to embarrass Cooper at a restaurant, and what it's like to be in between high-minded discussions between an Emmy Award-winning news broadcaster and the host of American Idol.
