Queen To Release Unheard Freddie Mercury Tracks In New Album

Queen’s lead guitarist Brian May recently confirmed the band’s plans to release a new album by the end of the year that will contain previously unheard tracks sung by the band’s iconic and now deceased frontman Freddie Mercury. The album’s rumored title is Queen Forever.

DigitalSpy.com reports:

The unreleased songs date back to the 1980s and feature Mercury's vocals over recently recorded instrumental tracks, which will be merged together using ProTools.

May discussed what the album will sound like, explaining: "It is quite emotional. It is the big, big ballads and the big, big epic sound."

The Queen guitarist disclosed that he is restoring the songs himself along with bandmate Roger Taylor.

May has previously revealed that Mercury's unreleased material includes a 1983 collaboration with Michael Jackson… it is unclear if the song will appear on Queen Forever.

Mercury died at age 45 from bronchial pneumonia resulting from AIDS, just one day after he publicly announced he had the disease.

Queen will kick off their 17-date summer tour in Chicago on June 19; openly gay singer Adam Lambert will sing in Mercury’s place.

'Frozen' Cast Does Mesmerizing Recreation Of Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' - VIDEO

If you like Disney's Frozen and Michael Jackson's "Thriller," then you're in luck! One devoted fan-slash-computer graphics whiz re-created the King of Pop's classic zombie dance using Frozen's animated characters and the results are delightfully chilling — especially the dead serious look in Elsa's eyes as she leads her zombie clone horde.

What should we call a "Thriller"/Frozen mashup? Friller? Throzen?

Epic Records Announces New Michael Jackson Album 'XSCAPE'

Earlier today, Epic Records revealed that a brand new album from the King of Pop will debut later this spring.

From the record company’s announcement:

XSCAPE is executive produced by Epic Records Chairman and CEO L.A. Reid. After mining by the Estate of Jackson’s archives, Reid was granted unlimited access to the treasures spanning four decades of material on which Jackson had completed his vocals. Reid then teamed up top producers to “contemporize” the songs while retaining Jackson’s essence and integrity, creating the best music you’ve never heard.

The list of producers include global hitmakers Timbaland, Rodney Jerkins, Stargate and John McClain.

John Branca and John McClain, co-executors of the Estate of Michael Jackson said, “Michael was always on the cutting edge and was constantly reaching out to new producers, looking for new sounds. He was always relevant and current. These tracks, in many ways, capture that spirit. We thank L.A. Reid for his vision.”

XSCAPE, featuring eight brand new recordings, will drop May 13th and will be available for pre-order April 1st on iTunes and elsewhere.
